A truly terrible hospitality experience. I valet parked my vehicle at the Durham on Saturday night. 2 hours into my stay, they interrupted an event I was hosting to inform me that an unknown person side-swiped my vehicle and knocked off my sideview mirror. I was told that there are no cameras in their valet area and that they have no idea who was responsible for the damage.Accidents happen, but the response has been remarkably inhospitable. I Ubered home that evening and requested that my vehicle not be moved while the mirror was still hanging from its wires. I did not want any further damage to my car. There was no attempt to pay for the Uber ride, and when I arrived the next day, I was informed that they had moved my car to another parking deck. When asked why they moved it, the General Manager blamed their evening manager for not having relayed the information.Today, I spoke with a member of their management company. The woman on the phone was unprofessional, combative and had no desire to listen to anything I had to say. It is unsurprising that issues like this occur with such poor upper management.1. Do something about your valet parking situation. When guests pay you to park a vehicle, it should be parked AWAY from the general public. And if you can't manage that, you need cameras. If I wanted to park my car in a public lot, I'd have done so myself.2. Train your management team better. Their flippant attitudes and willingness to shirk responsibility by blaming other team members are embarrassing and unprofessional. There are far too many great hotels in this area for an establishment like The Durham to conduct itself this way. Do not recommend it. I've been a fan since it opened, but I will not be returning until the property is under new ownership.

The staff are above and beyond amazing. Our concierge helped me with a mis-delivered door dash order AND they retrieved an item left behind. So friendly and helpful- it is really appreciated! The room was adorable and the amenities were impressive.

Great place. Clean, retro modernized feel. Complimentary morning coffee delivery was a cool feature.

This was a surprise trip to celebrate and important age milestone for my dearest. It just so happens to coincide with Valentines Day. In room champagne, chocolates and a welcoming staff made this such a great stay. I was very surprised at how quiet and sturdy the room was. Everything was clean and polished and prepped for guest. The waitstaff including the valet were expedient and accommodating. This was time and money well spent. Besides this is central to downtown so everything was in walking distance and Durham is quite walkable and the people are cool anyways.Walkability: Hotel is central to “Bull City” and food and drinks are aboundNoteworthy details: The crafts and items in the room are provide per local companies and it feels like high quality low production goods with emphasis on craftsmanship and utility.

lol the bartender served me olive juice instead of sour mix or simple syrup in my drink (idk what she was doing and she didn’t either clearly) and then was EXTREMELY rude when I told her my drink was disgusting . She said “that’s how the drink is made .. I can just put less lemon juice in it? Idk what else you’re expecting. That’s how the drink is made and our sour mix is just lemon juice … so …?”And kept belittling me like I didn’t know how my drink was supposed to taste … then when my friend mentioned the drink tasting like olive juice, she was like “OHHHH HAHA I used olive juice instead of the sour mix!!!!” And just acted like she wasn’t extremely rude and condescending when I told her my drink was disgusting …?She remade my drink and it was overall horrible service . She offered no apology for her rude demeanor and disrespect. The bartender acts as if her customers are dumb , yet she didn’t even know how to make an old fashioned (what my friend ordered) and had to seek assistance from a coworker ? Or who knows .. she disappeared mid drink for a few minutes and came back with nothing .. horrible service .She even made a comment when making my friends drink bout olive juice or something and that’s what made my friend realize she used olive juice in my drink… so she deliberately made my drink with olive juice after acknowledging the mistake or she just didn’t care to fix the mistake. ? I have no idea . But be careful, cause if you have an allergy to something, seems like they’re very careless with ensuring proper drink recipes and accurately labeling their products .

Great check in process provided by super front desk staff. Excellent amenities in a thoroughly enjoyable, renovated & reimagined nicely updated hotel. Comfortable, quiet, and most importantly clean room with good bedding and cozy bed. Valet filled up fast on a sat night with a bustling roof top restaurant but we were well taken care of. Excellent coffee shop in the lobby and great fresh grounds delivered to the door for in room brewing. Prompt courteous valet.

In the middle of downtown Durham, The Durham Hotel is for couples looking for modern luxury and urban sophistication, providing an exquisite backdrop for the weddings I've shot there and earning it a well-deserved five-star rating. Mid-century charm and contemporary design, set the stage for truly timeless wedding photos. The hotel's attentive and professional staff ensured that every aspect of the weddings, from planning to execution, was handled seamlessly. The rooms, styled with chic decor and offering breathtaking views of the city, provided a great photo spot for getting ready photos and the reception. The rooftop is always a hit, adding a unique view of the downtown Durham skyline. With its blend of modern aesthetics, exceptional service, and culinary excellence, this boutique hotel offers an urban oasis for creating weddings in style. Highly recommended for those couples looking to elevate their wedding experience in the heart of Durham.

We had my sister's birthday brunch there this morning and it was wonderful! Peacock met us outside and helped my sister in [she is in a wheelchair]. The hostess was welcoming, and our server, Mars, was a true delight. The Bellinis were yummy and all of the food was delicious! The portions were large and the plating was beautiful and the taste was on pointe for everything. We ordered bananas foster pancakes, stuff French toast, and breakfast fried rice. Thank you, Durham Hotel Restaurant!

I had the best stay at this hotel recently! The staff and service is unmatched, I have never felt so welcomed and comfortable at a hotel before. They went above and beyond to accommodate us in any way that they could. The food is incredible as well! I loved the coffee service in the morning. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. They provided everything you could need on a trip and more! I will definitely be recommending this hotel and rebooking a visit for myself soon.Nearby activities: Lots of nearby bars and restaurants to check out. Most places are closed until Wednesday so keep that in mind.Noteworthy details: Front desk service was amazing, they were so personable and welcoming!
