If you are a Chinese student planning to live here, I have only one suggestion: run away quickly1. If you start school in September and have already been looking for a house in June or July, then I do not recommend you to live here at all. The premium here is too high, and the service is quite average. There is no signal on the low floors, the walls are very thin, and the air conditioning The heating is very bad. I live on the first floor. The ceiling leaks in summer and the windows leak in winter.2. As for the safety issue, it has nothing to do with whether the house has a placket or not. It has to do with where you live. There are basically no safe places north of Duke. The whole of Durham is average. Generally speaking, the closer you are to Chapel Hill, the safer it is. I suggest you go along the Take the 400 bus to the south to find an apartment. There are buses anyway, so it won’t take up your time. You are already in the United States, so don’t try to be close to the school. Apartments in the north that are close to the school are not safe, but they are not safe either. What kind of danger is there? Therefore, choosing this apartment to live is a big injustice.

I'm currently staying at Trinity Commons at Erwin and am very satisfied with not only the house but also the staff. Among the many staff members, Marlayna has been the best. She goes above and beyond to help me, even with minor things such as mail delivery. I think I found the best place to live in while I'm doing my job at Duke!

The elevator is not working and this is from past 2 weeks!!! The only benefit is being near to DUH which you could find other apartments with same distance as well. The office increased my rent for 600 dollars 25% !!! I believe the cleanliness is not taken care ! Not flexible with your contract duration !

Araia has been extremely helpful with the moving process! It is always stressful to move but she made it so easy. She found the perfect apartment for me. She was great at communicating and making sure the whole process went smoothly. 5 stars!!!

Amenities are neat, and housing quality is overall good. However, the pool has been unusable for quite a long time now. Heated pool was a major reason my friend moved in, and they are very disappointed that it is unavailable.

Trinity Commons has been the first apartment I have moved into and has been an amazing experience. The helped me through my entire moving process and given the resources I needed to be successful in my move across the country. The entire staff is friendly and responsive. I specifically worked with the amazing Araia through my move in and she is truly such a kind person and is open to all question. I highly recommend this apartment building!!

I spent 4 months as an international student at Trinity Commons and my experience was great. Apartments are neat, the building is very safe and well located. The team is wonderful, very friendly but also always happy to help with any issues, and so is the maintenance team. I'll come back anytime and strongly recommend it to any international student looking for a good deal while studying at Duke.
