The young lady lied to me at the pharmacy drive thru. I had a sleeping baby in the car, and she made me come inside to purchase Mucinex because “it’s state law”. I asked for her to make an exception, I had my ID to show/give, but she reiterated that it was “state law”.
She lied.
According to AI:
No, it’s not the law in North Carolina that requires you to enter the store to buy Mucinex with Sudafed (which contains pseudoephedrine). The state mandates that such products be kept behind the pharmacy counter, with ID verification and electronic logging via the National Precursor Log Exchange (NPLEx) system to prevent meth production. But federal and state rules allow sales through drive-thrus if the pharmacy can handle the verification there, just like prescriptions. The girl at the Walgreens in Durham likely followed company policy, not state law—Walgreens often restricts drive-thru sales of pseudoephedrine to avoid paperwork hassles or security issues, based on complaints from staff in similar spots. That’s why you could grab it at the drive-thru in South Carolina without trouble; their pharmacies (and chains like CVS or Walgreens there) tend to process it curbside more routinely under comparable rules. If it’s urgent, try another pharmacy in Durham or call ahead to confirm their setup.
Hey Walgreens… How about be more empathetic to dads with sleeping kids in the car? Allow employees to make exceptions, and…. How about having some character and not lying. Ridiculous.

I've never come across a more unprofessional pharmacy in my life.

Don't bother using the pharmacy. The staff has a serious attitude problem and no one ever answers the phone.

I send all my medications in at once to get them filled monthly. However, since transferring to Walgreens, it's been nothing but a nightmare at times trying to get all my medications filled. This is one of the worst pharmacies I've ever had to deal with.

At the Walgreens at 3793 Guess road, 4 times now, probably many more, but only 4 that have directly affected my health, their pharmacy has just been closed out of the blue, during hours they're listed as open. I'm on two medication I can't do without even one day, yet I've been forced to by them, because of their casual, oh we're open, or maybe we're not open, attitude. More frustrating is the fact that they take zero responsibly for being closed when we've been told by them, we'll be open. It's beyond an unprofessional way of keeping hours for a pharmacy. When I called this morning to get it refilled, they said it would be ready later today. However, they knew at that time, they were going to close 3 hours earlier than their normal hours, but they didn't think it inform me of that fact. I showed up directly after work, and oops closed, too bad. Pharmacies are in control of too many aspects of our health for this to be acceptable. if you hire pharmacists who can't work the hours you've hired them to work, get new one's or don't call yourself a pharmacy. You put people's wellbeing at risk. Even my UNC doctors have advised me to switch pharmacies due to the many problems. The one bright spot in all this, was a manager named Pamela, who I spoke to on the phone when I got home, she cared, listened to my concerns, called another Walgreens to see if she could get it filled there, called me back but couldn't get it transferred, no fault of her own, she's a gem.

I made an appointment for my second COVID booster on their website. (This only took thirty minutes and two tries, because they sent you what looks like a confirmation screen, but you have to scroll down and confirm before you actually have an appointment.) I arrived on time and, by some miracle, there was no one at the pharmacy. I stated that I had an appointment at 5:15, and was immediately called a liar by the pharmacist. I showed confirmation text and the other pharmacy worker was able, with the help of my insurance card, Medicare card, and my COVID vax card finally get me a shot. All the while, the pharmacist buzzed around like an angry bee, constantly asking her snippy questions while she and I had reached an understanding that we were going to work through this, despite the website "allowing" me this "unoffered" time slot. I filled in the paper version of the form I had filled in online "to save you time when you come in for your vaccination", and in about five minutes a nice nurse came and gave me the injection and I was done.I feel sorry for the two ladies I worked with, if what I saw was an indication of what they have to deal with on a daily basis. You shouldn't be in a helping profession if all you want to do is prove someone wrong. They both had great patience and people skills. Sadly, they are not rubbing off on their boss.

After making an appointment, online... filling out the needed paper online thur the app. The day before this appointment. As I arrived at my appointment@9am, there was one person inline, to get a flu shot without an appointment, after I checked in for my an appointment, one other person walked in for a flu. As I waited, over an half hour, I was given paperwork, to fill out. This paperwork was filled out though the app...but I had to fill it out again at the store. I made an

I came in today to have a poster board picture printed at last minute and a gentleman helped me with the kiosk since I couldn't get the app to work. He was very patient with me and helped me pick out what I needed. He had great customer service especially with me coming in 30 minutes after they opened which in my opinion is when no one is awake and cranky. His name was Deforrest and I appreciated his help and patience with me and the slow machine so much that I'll definitely be visiting this location opposed to the others from here on out. Thank you again Deforrest and Walgreens for not letting me down!

I do not know how this company took over Rite Aid! Their pharmacy is never open when you need. It makes no sense for a Pharmacy not to be open by at least 8 AM on a weekday and by 9 AM on a weekend. I never had this issue with Rite Aid. I also never had issues with payments, delayed prescription refills (that seem to be an issue with the pharmacy and not the insurance company or doctors office) and the rudeness of their employees when you do run into an issue. These issues really need to be fixed if you want to win over customers who used to go to locations in Durham, NC that were formally fantastic Rite Aid locations. I will be switching my prescriptions to another company.

A gentleman from out of town in Virginia asked me what's the best place to get a flu shot. I thought Walgreens I've seen their notices that they have free flu shots they're encouraging everyone to get a flu shot let's go to Walgreens and I'll take you there. So I went with a 95-year-old gentleman to get a flu shot. The gentleman has insurance with Medicare he was unable to get a shot unless he wanted to pay the $70 Walgreens administrative fee. His insurance would not cover that administrative fee. Walgreens would not provide the flu shot without the administrative fee. He could barely walk and was in his walker and so he had to leave and try another pharmacy
