My husband & I have been coming here for 2+ years, since we moved into the area. Their sandwiches are THE BEST! FANTASTIC bread!! No other place in this area has bread like this! My favorite place to get a wonderful sandwich! My favorite is the Vegetarian, my husband's are the Carolina Cuban & Italian. We both love the crabcake sandwich. It's not on regular menu, but is, when in season, and available, a weekly special. Check it out. They only accept CASH.

Delicious food and better service! Highly recommend. So many excellent sandwiches to choose from and the French Bread was absolutely amazing.

I’ve been coming here for about a year now and every time it is fantastic. We get the Italian sandwhiches and they are divine!! The ingredients are great and the bread is even better.

Such nice people working here. We were happy to meet them & chat with them. Their Emilio & crab sandwiches were delicious ! Edenton is such a beautiful, historical town.

Always try to plan our trip to and from NC and NH so that we can have a sandwich from Emilio’s! Today I had the crab cake on the baguette - delicious!

This was our 1st visit to Emilio's and it won't be our last! Great sandwiches and friendly service. I had the South Broad and my husband had the Club. Delicious!!! Baguettes are fresh made and wonderful. Can't wait to try the other sandwiches on the menu.

What a very strange place but I am glad I came. Sleepy Edenton has a couple of diners and bistro-type places, but I wanted something quick that I could eat on the go. This fit the bill. Pretty much all they have here are sandwiches and accompaniments like chips and sodas - at least during the lunch hour I was there. But what a selection - huge, varied, and atypical! The menu was handwritten on the whiteboard behind the counter. It took me a while to choose, during which the waitperson/cashier/owner? was trying to be helpful with advice like "the Carolina Cuban is really popular". Not so helpful actually; this extensive and verbose menu required concentration! I eventually decided on the "Argentinian": smoked turkey, swiss and feta cheese, onions, tomatoes, and chimichurri on a slightly toasted baguette. Why the name? I suppose it was the sauce; turkey and feta are not commonly associated with Argentina. Many of their sandwiches have geographical names, though the association is vague at best for many of them.No matter; it was an excellent sandwich. Chimichurri is so much more interesting than the traditional mustard, oil, or mayonnaise condiments. The tomato was fresh, the turkey flavorful and ample in quantity. And the feta: highly unusual in the use of thick slabs rather than crumbled as traditional.Aside from the minor issue of my waitperson/cashier being too chatty while I was making up my mind the service was excellent. Her demeanor was cheerful, she got my order right, and that was ready really quickly. As I left with my bagged lunch, she wished me a "Blessed Day". What more could I ask for?But, my time there being so short I didn't really have time to take in the ambience. Which is too bad, because the ambience was ... weird. I wish I could have remembered more. There were some small dining tables and chairs, so you could eat there. I had an overall impression of clutter and a feeling of transition. Like, it used to be a dining room but now it is also a back office? Or a storage closet? Stacks of paper towels, paper files, office supplies. Projects layed out in corners.None of that matters though; in the end they make a great sandwich. Go here. You'll be really glad you did.

Do not be put off by the eclectic interior; it is just a laid back place. We have eaten at Emilio’s twice this week because his sandwiches are just that good. My wife and I can attest to the Authentic Greek Gyro, Mexican, Carolina Cuban, and the Mediterranean. Each sandwich, except the Gyro (pita), begins with the French Baguette roll/bread which is incredible. The ingredients are fresh and each sandwich pops with flavor. This is a must lunch visit when in Edenton! The cashier and Emilio are personable and friendly. Just a note: this is a CASH ONLY establishment. I have attached a photo of their menu and our sandwiches.

We love their sandwiches for lunch. They are always so friendly here. I recommend calling ahead if you are wanting to "grab and go" especially if your sandwich is hot. Otherwise it doesn't take long at all.

Wonderful Gyro, the homemade Tzatziki is great! Healthy, light and delicious. Cash Only and worth every penny. Great way to finish a walk in downtown Edenton. The owner is very friendly.

Gyro was horrible. Peta was toasted hard. Meat was dried out to point it was crispy hard around the edges. Could not find the advertised onions. No one noticed I tried one bite and then set it aside. As I paid at least they were smart enough to not ask if I enjoyed their food. My wife's sandwich was on a really good roll. Enough said. These folks should close up, or just be a bakery selling rolls.
