Underwhelming customer service here is a foregone conclusion. I haven’t had a positive, or even neutral, experience here in several months. Each time seems to get a little worse. Keep your expectations very low if you must visit this store.

Went to pick up my husbands meds after getting him home from hospital . I pulled up in drive thru .. saw several people working. Saw the man in front of me get handed his order as I pulled up. No one acknowledged me . I sat there 10 minutes and not one person acknowledged me. I finally drove around and walked in where I was ignored again .. finally a hateful cashier waited kn me and flung my license at me . What in the world Walgreen!!!!! This is unacceptable!!

The store is good for OTC stuff, but the pharmacy is terrible! Half the time they don’t have your prescriptions ready and/or in stock. The local mom and pop pharmacies do a much better job!

Can't give 0 stars or I would RX customer service is beyond pathetic. Stood in line for a prescription that was suppose to be ready according to text. Listen to some girl behind counter berate an elderly lady over the same thing. I was told they were out of my medication and the text was a glitch. Really. Called my Dr's to change over all my prescriptions to another store.. Walgreens in Elkin should be boarded up and employees fired, and barred from working with public in any position but floor sweeper at Burger King

4 times since September I have filled/refilled a rx and been sent a text notifying me that my medication was ready to be picked up. All 4 times I drove to the store to find out they had not filled the medicine yet, and that it was out of stock. So this last time I called in and spoke to someone directly(thinking there must be something wrong with the automated system) they assured me the medication would be filled the following day. Once again, in the drive thru, I was told the medicine was out of stock and to come back the next day.

A Walgreens employee always welcomes me to the store. I'm usually picking up prescriptions and the pharmacy staff is professional and helpful

Been dealing with Walgreens for over 25 yrs. Yesterday I called to track an order. Some very RUDE individual named Cheyanne told me they were running behind, told her I needed that medication,, her response YOU can take it to another pharmacy. Well this morning I am transferring ALL my meds to another place of Buisness her snarky attitude is more than I need. So long Walgreens

Worst pharmacy ever no matter what location. But elkins finest charged us $250 acting like it was an insurance issue when it was their system error. They had switched up the insurance in the computer. I asked why we was having to pay for prescriptions that should be free with Humana. Then today they said they had blue cross as the insurance. I asked the gentleman several times why and he never said it wasn't under humana when asked. He kept saying it was an issue with humans but he wasn't even reading his screen or he would have noticed the insurance was wrong. We have had the same insurance for years. Now they refuse to refund my $250 when it was their fault!!!!

They've always filled my prescriptions quickly. Sometimes at busy times there is a line. Their staff is helpful, if you have a coupon to use.

Horrible service.
Was seen at urgent care in Jonesville in the early afternoon, they faxed over my prescription. I figured my medication wouldn’t take all of almost 7 hours to fill, so my partner and I waited in town to receive a notification that my medication would be ready. It took multiple hours for them to acknowledge they had received an order. By the time it hit an hour before close we decided to call, and they told us it would just be twenty minutes. We had waited all day for an order that could be filled in TWENTY minutes?? I went unmedicated all day and am significantly worse for wear because of it.
When we arrived they claimed they had managed to “lose” my prescription in under 30 minutes and couldn’t find it, only for it to be sitting on a counter for god knows how long. My medication could have been filled all day for all we know. Absolutely horrible service.
I don’t know how a pharmacy can forget that they are literally dealing with someone’s life and livelihood by taking care of their medication.
If anybody is reading this and willing to take a longer drive to receive decent service, Walgreens in Wilkesboro is fantastic and Elk Pharmacy is also a good option.
