Love this area! A really great Food Lion is there for all your food needs for the beach house it has a wonderful selection of meats and cheese and fresh produce along with all the normal things you expect from a great grocery store. We always get to the beach house and unpack then head to Michaelangelos Pizza for dinner(really great pizza!!!). Then walk to the Food Lion and shop for the week for necessities. The shops are wonderful here and everything is within walking distance if you park in front of food lion or in front of the shops. There's a turtle sanctuary around back and a good restaurant called Rucker johns. We go to these shops several times a week when we visit. Highly recommend !

A ideal little shopping center to buy gifts and souvenirs and grab a bite to eat.

Emerald Plantation is a little mall that is mostly filled with small gift shops for tourists to rummage around. There's also a small movie theatre here. However, the best part of it all is the big pond in the back (outside). There's nothing in there but turtles. There's a vending machine that you can purchase some dry kernels of some sort and throw them to the turtles. It's so cute to see the turtles compete for the kernels. When the kernels land in the water, the minnows rush to them and suck on them until a turtle gobbles them up. The cutest of them all are the baby turtles, seeing them getting all excited for a kernel. But, damn, these pigeons/gulls swooping down for the kernels. *shoo, shoo*
