Made a reservation Friday, 7/14. I get a call from Ryan on Sunday night at 10:37PM EST telling me my rental is cancelled for Monday morning. I could find no other cars to rent. There last minute cancellation put me in a bind.

Friendly, and good customer service. This is one of those facilities you want to rent ahead. Every time I am here I always see people asking if they have rentals and you see the "No nod", all the way down the line. I noticed this week even hotels were booked. I have no idea what's going on as it's not a hip and happening town from my previous stays. I could be wrong maybe I'm just staying in the wrong area. Ft Bragg is my why for being here but I can't imagine there being a ton of rentals for that. Anyhow, I recommend the National here. I have always had good interactions with them.

The worst experience with National at this location. Probably a 0 star if it was possible. I was rebooked from a morning flight to night flight (one of the last flights in) due to delays, so I tried to call this branch to ensure I still had a car when I landed. Travelled for work and needed one to get to my destination early morning. No one picked up. Called the branch several times and even tried reaching out to the National customer service hot line. Was told they'd reach out to the branch and branch would call me back asap. Waited 4 hours, no phone call. I even called the enterprise number right before I boarded knowing they share the same counter. It was a no go as no one picked up either. I did end up getting a car, but there were no apologies, and they claim there were no phone calls in the morning. You don't get to pick your car even as an executive member. No upgrade offers or anything. At that point, I was too stressed and exhausted to even bother. If I travel here for work ever again, I might consider a different airport and a longer drive time simply to avoid this national branch.

This place let me reserve a truck, pay for insurance and come all the to pick it up and said ”sorry we don’t have any vehicles for rent”. Like what? Are you messing with me? “Nope no cars at all”. Why could I reserve the truck and you don’t have one here” Oh that is just the website, if you would have called we would have told you that” Can’t make this stuff up man. Sorry businesses everywhere!!

Talk about efficiency? This place has it down. The lady who helped me when I picked up the car had everything ready to go - contract, car, and spot - and even called for loyalty members to be able to skip the line, which I am so grateful for when there isn't an pick and go option. She was also pleasant, and you don't always get both excellent quality and kindness when it comes to car rentals. The gentleman at the counter during check-in wasn't as friendly, but efficient he was. I know it's a small airport, but I'll take it and appreciate it!

If I could give them no stars I would!! We booked through hotwire for one of their rentals 2 weeks in advance for our anniversary trip to the beach. I even called 2 days ahead of our reservation to confirm it. They told yup your all set. I get there day of to be told sorry we dont have the vehicle you reserved. I am so angry. We needed something big that is why we reserved a truck. It took till the next day for us to find another truck. Thanks to Budget rental for getting us driving. You suck National!!!!!!

Unlike most national rental places, you cannot just walk out to the row and choose a car. It must be because of the set up of this specific location. Because the share a counter with enterprise, I had to wait in line an excessive amount of time to get a vehicle. The staff was friendly and polite and the car I received was clean at least.

Poor experience. Had a late flight arrival from Charlotte that was not delayed (key point!). Rental desk was closed since apparently they don’t wait for the final flights to come in for their reservations. Needed to spend extra money $$$ in order to get to my hotel and then back to the airport the next day. This is a broken process. You don’t accept reservations for later arriving flights, but then close shop and go home. Also rental agents only offer excuses about why they were closed versus acknowledging the problem with the desk being closed in the first place. It’s worth flying into RDU than dealing with nonsense like this again.

I am an Executive Elite member and have been for several years with National. Five or six years ago this would undoubtedly be a 5 star rating. Unfortunately, over the past 1 1/2 to 2 years National has deteriorated in my experiences. I travel at least 41 weeks a year all across the US. While there are bright spots, like the customer service manager onsite at RDU is fantastic, there are many other issues with National as whole. Namely, the availability of vehicles and with a robust selection. I get it that cars are in shorter supply in general, but none of Nationals competitors seem to have the same issue as prevalent. Often times Executive Elite isle is no better than Emerald, despite the large amount of rentals it takes to earn that tier. Lastly, corporate customer service and the local office are not in sync. Case in point, at SFO over memorial weekend my inbound flight would arrive 30 minutes after the location closed at 11 pm. Customer service assured me not to worry as the local office would have someone present for 2 hours post closing given my Elite status. Ironically, the day I am set to fly to SFO the local office calls me to inform me I will have to return in the morning to pick up a vehicle and that the 2 hour window is not true! So I was stuck. And when I returned in the morning around 6 am for the best selection I would be taken care of. Only to find a miserable selection and terrible service! Thank you Elite member! Which brings me to wonder should I stay or take my business elsewhere? I'm seriously considering the latter. Best of luck and I hope this review helps others make a more informed decision.

CALL THEM. DO NOT TRUST THE WEBSITE.The front desk staff were very polite as they had to tell me the website will let you book even if there is no inventory on site. They get one star for the lady at the desk. Minus 4 stars for national leaving me stranded.

Let me start off by saying I am an Executive Elite Emerald member and I’ve had a car rented from National for the last 12 months in different areas as I travel for business. I would leave 0 stars if I could for this particular location. Today I returned a car for service and waited almost 2 hours for another car to find out they couldn’t give it to me. They had poor availability of cars. Other people were waiting for cars as well. Service was extremely slow. They had poor communication and their employees need to be schooled in customer service and management. Try Hertz at this location. Their service was faster and they had cars ready.
