My family and I use SECU rather than using a bank. Credit unions are member owned, banks are not. Every SECU I've been in is full of smiling faces and someone always willing to help you or answer questions.

Well here I am, on hold for 14 minutes and someone said someone would be right with me. Lies. It is now 5:43. They close at 5:30. I actually called at 5:10 listening to that God awful repetitive tune. Finally someone picks up at 5:29. So, 19 minutes I listened to that same tune. The guy asked for the typical security questions, said someone will be right with you. Now it is 5:45 as I type. Is there anybody at all disgusted with the SECU as I am? This is what I think...they have ADD, Attention Deficit Disorder. They are closed. I even said "great, I have been listening to that tune since 5:10 when I called and it is now 5:29, you are closed now so no-one is going to answer the phone. He assured me there was someone to talk to. Now, as I type, it is 5:50. So by now, 40 minutes altogether from the time I called to be putting on hold. I was glad to join the others who apparently are not impressed with the SECU because they almost just have three stars. People aren't really the ones that lower their score....SECU are the ones, they did it to themselves. I'm going to hang up now because they are disrespectful to....sec, well, well, well, guess what, as I was about to finish this review, a lady picks up the phone, I explain how long I was put on hold and which department I wanted. She said "Well, this is the call center, the branches are closed." I said a gentleman put me on hold to talk to someone in the department I wanted and that there were several still there to talk to, and she said "that was correct but the department that YOU want has already closed at 5:30." I said "wait a minute, so if that guy transferred me to the right department, I would not have held on as long as I did!? And she said "that is correct, and you would have been done by now after talking to the correct department, I'm sorry." It is now 6:05. I despise THE SECU. Glad to have given them ONE STAR to add to their collection. They earned it. Wait, nope, they deserved ZERO stars, but it doesn't allow for zero stars. Just understand that ONE STAR is actually ZERO.

My Mother has been with the State Employees Credit Union all of her life since the 60's. And I started with them in 1990. I never have had an issue. Always Excellent Service.

ZERO STARS!!! I am giving a zero star rating simply for the service I received to a business that has possession of my hard earned money. I came into this branch wanting to withdraw $1000 in certain denominations of my OWN money. Some clerks do not like these transactions because it requires them to get UP off their kiesters and fill the customers order. I was requesting $300 in ten dollar bills and the clerk told me she only had $280 . So I am in awe...is this a bank or what? Then she proceeded to tell me the daily limit was $2000 . I said I am only wanting to withdraw $1k of the many of thousands of dollars I have with the credit union. The clerk was visably upset but why? This would be like a Jiffy Lube tech mad because a car needed 8 quarts of oil instead of 4 or 6. This upsets me because a bank or credit union loans out the money you give them at 14, 19 or even 30% yet they will only give you a 0.05 return or whatever on your same money.Banks are the biggest crooks but we need them so it's a catch 22 for the common blue collar worker.

I have never had an issue with SECU until I walked into this branch. First they acted like they don't allow people to sign over checks which is ridiculous considering I've done it many times. Then they said they would but it would be a 4 day hold which I didn't care its going into my savings. They tried to have me sign a paper saying that the information I'm giving them does not match the information on the check, is incorrect, and seems fraudulent. None of the information was incorrect, none of it didn't match the check, and nothing about it was fraudulent. The amount of money on the paper was even less than the checks worth. I refused to sign it and asked what it was about. Miss Boykin was extremely rude. Made remarks like, if your husband (the person who was signing the check over to me) was really my husband then he could get an account there too. Why would we want to get him an account there when we are being discriminated against? Idk if she knows what year it is but married women are allowed to have their own income and accounts now. I've never had issues alone. Was that the reason or was is because he was a POC? She then said well its because they've only ever seen 4 of these checks from this company before. Which is hard to believe considering it's a rental property who has been around over a decade and it was a check for us to get our deposit back. I asked well were any of those fraudulent? She said no. Ok so why do you think this one will be fraudulent now? I've banked with SECU for over a decade. Never done anything fraudulent or had any issues. I won't getting the check cashed it was going into savings. I had more than enough on my account to cover if it was bad. It seems to me like they were just finding reasons to discriminate and not be helpful. Whatever you do stay away from this branch and miss Boykin.

I went to apply for a 400 dollar personal loan… only for them to tell me before I can get approved, I would need to pay off a 2000 dollar student loan… what sense does that make?? If I need to borrow 400…. What makes you think I have 2000??? Come on state employees

State employees is a great bank only reason they got the 2 stars and not 1 , but this location need to change a lot of there customer service representative’s there unprofessional and rude. Coming to the drive thru I’ve waited in line and watched several people leave before me that came after me when coming to do something so simple such as making a deposit or withdrawal.

He had answers to our questions and just over all a great experience. He was able to help us save money and I am forever grateful. Great customer service is hard to come by especially during the pandemic but he made our experience memorable. Keep up the good work!

On April 1st, I arrived to the bank AT 5:30. A gentlemen handed me some checking account withdrawal slips. I waited in line to get my money out of my bank account because for some reason, the bank still hasn't issued me a new card. So, I waited in line, and right around 5:43, even though I got to the bank earlier, the gentlemen tells me the bank is close. I tried to tell him that I was there earlier and everybody else was getting their money, so why I couldn't. Due to not being able to get my money, I had to call my supervisor and tell her that I was unable to go to work due to not having any money for gas. Worst bank in the history of banks.
