I took my little fur baby to the hospital at 4am this morning. He is very sick. As soon as the lady opened the door she stated the vet is doing a procedure and won’t be available for a couple of hours. She stated she could check his vitals which she stated she did and his vitals were good. She said I could either wait a couple of hours there or go to my vet. I waited for my vet to open and took him immediately. It turned out he is very sick with a infection and very dehydrated. The vet is not sure if he will recover. I do not understand how their website can say emergency or urgent care 24/7 but no one was available for several hours!

While my vet is only at this facility l day per week, I do not believe the care can be any better if she were a full time employee. My dogs blood work found several problems and diagnostic directions and care were directly communicated to me.

We have been taking our dogs to Western Carolina Regional Animal Hospital for almost 4 years, since moving to the area. It was important to us to find a veterinary practice that was AAHA Accredited, which they are. They have provided a broad scope of services to our pets, from welcoming a new puppy to end of care for a senior dog. All of the docs and staff are knowledgable, caring and compassionate. Highly recommended.

I love this place! My baby has had so many problems. In each instance, everything possible and every venue available was explored and a solution was found to help my fur baby feel her best. I thank God every day for these people and their care and knowledge. They are an absolute answer to our prayers! I love each and every person that works there. They are so good to my baby.

Our fur baby has received the best care every visit. The staff is friendly and always helpful. I can’t say enough great things about the staff, and Dr. Hower goes above and beyond for our sweet Sadie every time.

Took our 12 year old Border Collie here tonight when she started having rapid eye movement and was unable to stand. We did have to wait a bit, but that's to be expected and they communicated they had a few emergencies ahead of us. The staff was extremely caring, even providing a soft blanket for her to lay on. The wait was worth it as they really took their time with her and were very thorough. Thankfully, it turned out to be something that should pass on its oown. The fee, while not cheap, was very reasonable for an emergency vet and I never felt like they were trying to sell me extra services. I wish they were closer because they are amazing!

Their facility is super clean and the entire staff was very kind. It is never easy to say goodbye to a fur baby but doing it here made it much less painful. My sweet boy was on oxygen and had an IV in within minutes of our arrival. Thank you, Western Carolina Regional Animal Hospital for your kindness and compassion.

I brought my cat to WCR on Saturday, January 27th. Both he and I were treated very well and my cat received excellent care. Dr. Hower was very nice and took time reviewing his case and explaining things thoroughly. I think my cat is on the mend due to Dr. Hower’s proactive approaches. I’ll be back and definitely recommend this place for your animals.

0/10– would NOT recommend. This is my first review of anywhere online, but I felt the need because my experience has been ridiculous and makes me concerned how you all would handle an actual emergency. They have wasted my time and money. All we were looking to do was a simple nail trim. When I called to make appt, they repeatedly kept saying “if we can do it.” Went to appt to I guess “see if they could do it”, they could not. Understandably, my dog does have anxiety with trimming nails, but in my thinking this is a VET OFFICE who should be trained and informed on how to get things done. Especially something so simple. Scheduled a second appointment after we purchased a whole bottle of sedatives for my dog. We were to return and try again on a different day. So today, we gave her the med as prescribed before appt. The tech took my dog back for what felt like 20 seconds, comes back out and says she is not comfortable trying. Did not try to restrain, muzzel, get someone else, nothing?? Just said no, and tried to start “discussing their protocol”. I guarantee that if we had hundreds of dollars to spend, they would have been able to do it no problem. I feel as though that’s what they wanted us to do, but I don’t know anyone who has hundreds to spend on a nail trim. Perhaps you should have employees that are more willing to figure out how we can get something so simple done, instead of just saying no, or maybe they also need to take some sedatives before procedures. Absolutely ridiculous.

I had to put my moms little dog down on Sunday. I called this animal hospital, they were so kind and helpful! They told me to call them when I was on my way and they would have a room ready for her. From the time I walked in the front door, until I left, I couldn't have been treated any better! Thank you to All the staff at this place!

Whether for routine visits, or the unexpected, WCRAH gets high marks from us. Compassion and communication are the 2 most important qualities for anyone caring for those who can’t speak for themselves…and the staff at WCRAH has always shown compassion to our pets, while also clearly and kindly communicating their understandings of our pets’ needs to us. Exceptional veterinary clinics understand this dual priority, and subsequently, we’ve found the entire staff at WCRAH worthy of high praise.

These idiots told me acetaminophen wouldn’t harm my dog. Beware that you have to get a diagnosis of $85 from Poison Control before even talking to this hospital. They are an institution profiting off fear of pet owners. Shame on them.
