Cowee Mountain Clay Gallery & Studio features quality, affordable functional pottery with an unconditional satisfaction guarantee, and specializes in decorative pottery and paintings. All pottery is handmade at the shop. The goal is for visitors to have a friendly enjoyable visit and gain insight into how pottery is made. Inventory is constantly added, so there is always something new to see. The shop is conveniently located on Highway 441 just north of Franklin. From January 1 to April 1, hours are not regular, so call to make an appointment. Products are phenomenal looking, durable, and reasonably priced. The owner is a delight. Pieces include beautiful work, with the best coffee or beer mug ever. The shop offers an earthy and eclectic mix of functional ware and gorgeous one of a kind statement pieces like large vessels, bells, and lamps. Visitors enjoy great conversations and can learn about the pottery process. The owner is a talented artist who gives studio tours and explains the work patiently. This place is a must visit, especially for anyone who loves unique pottery.
