This was our first time using this company. We have moved multiple times and this was the best moving experience we have ever had. DJ and Jesus were our two amazing guys. They arrived on time, they hustled while taking great care of our belongings. They were friendly and very respectful. Pricing was very fair and transparent. We only paid a little more than expected because it just took more time. No hidden charges. Best moving experience EVER. Will definitely use them if we move again and will highly recommend them to others.

Great in home furniture move by Smart Move! They arrived on time and moved one heavy piece to our second floor and rearranged other heavy pieces on the first floor. They worked safely and were careful of our floors and furniture. They had great attitudes and I enjoyed having them in my home.

I hired Smart Move LLC for a Personally Procured Move (PPM) from North Carolina to Virginia. From the beginning, I made it explicitly clear that I would need certified weight tickets, a requirement for reimbursement through the Department of Defense.
I was assured multiple times, both in writing and over the phone, that I would receive them. When the company said they were switching me from a non-binding to a binding quote, I asked again, and was told that weight tickets would still be provided.
After the move, I followed up consistently. I was told, repeatedly, that the tickets would be sent “later that day.” Eventually, I was told they had been “lost.”
Worse still, one of their employees suggested weighing a different truck and sending me those tickets instead, effectively encouraging me to commit fraud by submitting knowingly false documentation to the U.S. government. He even said he would see if the scale company would adjust the dates to match my move. I have the screenshots.
The only document I received was a vague, unsigned memo with no certified scale information, no truck identifiers, and no proof that a weigh-in ever occurred.
No explanation has been offered as to how this happened or why federal weigh-in requirements weren’t followed. The owner’s final offer? A 25% refund. Despite the fact that I’m now facing total denial of reimbursement because of their failure. That still leaves me thousands of dollars in the hole. Not because of a shared misunderstanding or bad luck, but because this company couldn’t be bothered to do the one thing they repeatedly promised
Military families don’t have the luxury of “eating the cost” of someone else’s negligence. If you’re considering Smart Move LLC for your PCS, don’t. We trusted them to get it right. They didn’t, and we’re the ones paying the price.
