They charged me 70 odd dollars to not fix my dog (he's still messed up) and never even bothered to do the follow-up call.

I run a registered nonprofit animal rescue in South Carolina. We recently took in a golden retrieve who spent most of his young life in a crate. His owners were putting him to sleep because they didnt want a dog (was originally belonged to their daughter) and they wanted to go on vacation. He's since been placed with a foster family who decided almost immediately that Lucky belonged with them permanently. I started working on getting this poor dog in for vaccines and a skin scrape as he has massive hotspots. He needed his vaccines so he could go to the groomers as he really needed the matting taken care of. I called SCAH last week and explained Luckys situation ensuring it wouldn't be a issue. They had no problem providing me a quote and immediately booking his appointment. I was told "we work with a lot of rescues and adopted dogs" His foster mom arrived early with Lucky and sat in the waiting room. Lucky was great in the waiting room...barked at a cat but never growled or aggressively tried to get to the feline. He was being sweet with tail wags to everyone who came up to him. He was doing so much better than he was when they took him home a few weeks ago. They called Luck to the back at 9:53 and they were dismissed at 10:03. Why? Because Lucky being nervous dropped to the floor and let out a low growl, not a snarl, he didn't fly off the handle. His foster immediately reassured him and offered to muzzle him for his exam. The vet told her no that wouldnt work the exact quote "Oh no! He can chew right through that!". Which lets be honest is impossible if the muzzle is fitted correctly. The foster asked about sedation. She was told "I cant do that this morning. I'm not putting myself and staff at risk". He acted like Lucky was a vicious sog snarling and chomping at everyone over a simple low growl at the beginning. Then they asked her to leave as he was "too dangerous" but not before the doctor pulled her to the side to urge her to not adopt him. His reason? Luckys obvious aggressiveness and the fact that she has children. *eye roll* His foster informed the vet that Lucky is not aggressive, that he is simply scared. Assured him that the children are always monitored with Lucky and he has never so much as growled at the kids. She explained how nobody has ever given him a chance or the opportunity to acclimate to new things. This vet ought to be ashamed that his FEAR was allowed to take precedence and to combat that he chose to lable the dog as aggressive. I really hope nobody has taken their dogs into him for a behavior evaluation as he will let his nervousness take the front seat on that one. Absolutely unbelievable.

So my family and I moved from Kinston to Goldsboro. I have two dogs that I wanted to be switched over to thier care. The first day I stopped by the receptionist seemed pissy. No eye contact. Now the vet tech and vet were polite. Nice. I really respect the fact that the doctor wanted to work with my dog. Wanted to make him feel comfortable. Did not recommend giving the animals what he believes is toxic medication. But what I do not have respect for is being given the run around. I have been told numerous things by thier staff. Been told they would contact my prior vet office in Kinston to request vet records. Been told that once they recieve them I will be authorized to purchased prescribed medications and collars to prevent fleas and parasites. Then I'm told that the dogs need a heartworm test, or proof, in order to recieve the medications. Even though one of my dogs cannot be examined months from now. And my other dog is not due for an exam until december. My dogs have been on Trifexis month by month. Never had heartworm or fleas. What's the point of sending over the vaccination records? And lastly I asked the vet tech if the proof of Trifexis would be enough to give me authorization for to purchase the collars and Heartguard. She tells me "I think it should be". So you are ok with me driving 22 minutes away with an anxiety dog just to be turned away because you failed to communicate with me? Lol. The staff there tells you several different things. No direct answer. Almost as if they are afraid to talk to the vet for an answer. So...as much as I respect the vet and his style. I do not respect the way the staff manages. Very poor. I already switched care. They also lied to me about Seresto collars being safe. I did my research...as I always do. Over 2500 pets have been killed from wearing the color. From two toxic pesticides. Funny considering the vet refuses to prescribe Trifexis. But is ok selling a pesticide collar that has not only killed animals but might possibley be cancelled by the CDC. No thanks! To top ot off..after a few months they sent me a bill for a "consult". Doesn't even list specifics for what I'm being charged for. I was livid. When I walked in 2 months back they literally did NOTHING! They assumed my dog was aggressive...which is funny because the new place I got him into took his blood, fecal...weight. He was great. Had no issues. It's called PATIENCE! PROFESSIONALISM! They took him back for a minute...and told me they couldn't take his blood..or give him shots. Lol. They were scared of him. Yet...it was the other way around. My dog was afraid of them...because they were scared! I won't pay $42 for your clinic just to walk him bwck to your exam room. On top of that...you and your receptionists never returned my calls. Refused to prescribe him flea meds. After telling me you would. Then after not hearing from you for 2 months you try and send me a worthless bill. A consult is suppose to be served the first day...and if anything was done. Which is wasn't. This clinic is horrible. Do me a favor and delete my contact info!

Brought my cat Lucy here and I’m so glad I did. There are a decent amount of vet offices in the area but I’m glad I chose this one. Dr. Hansen is personable and all his staff are nice! I would recommend ??

I love Dr. Hansen and his staff. He's great with all my babies and trust me I'm picky about who and where I take them to be cared for. When my oldest girl needed to cross the rainbow bridge, he let her stay in her spot in my truck and let her go peacefully.Dr. Hansen explains things thoroughly during the appointment and won't perform treatment without permission.

I have been taking my furbabies here for the last 4 years and they are hands down the best vet in Goldsboro! The staff is so sweet and they genuinely care about all the animals and owners as well. Plus they are willing to work with you during unforeseen circumstances. If I could give them 100 stars I would! I will always recommend Dr. Hansen and the staff at Spring Creek to anyone needing reliable, affordable care for their fur babies!
