Just purchased a pre-owned Toyota from James, and could not have been happier to be his customer!
We had been looking at one overpriced junk car after another at other dealerships, and were so frustrated. Decided to take a chance here, and it really paid off.
While test-driving the vehicle, warning lights went off, and when we mentioned it to James, he replied immediately that the car could not be sold until repaired and in a safe, warning-free condition. He called us when done, everything we were promised, we got, and in return, he has our loyalty. We will always call on James and Auto Focus when we are looking for a vehicle, and will recommend them to anyone and everyone!
We appreciate the sincerity and trustworthiness.

I gave my daughter Money to buy a car here and two of the male staff tried to bully her into buying it (Raising voices and zooming off in the car)-not wanting to hear her concern, acting as though she didn’t know what she was doing, and discounting the certified mechanics recommendations (That she paid for herself). This is why used car salesmen have a bad image.

Wish I could give 0 stars. Upon arrival, it was evident that the Toyota car had many minor dents and scratches along with rust under the hood that was not mentioned nor pictured in the post. The sales man, James I believe is his name, told me that every car has rust and corrosion and discouraged me from taking it to a dealership to have it inspected. I still took it to a Toyota dealership with certified technicians who performed a pre purchase inspection. The CERTIFIED TOYOTA TECHNICIANS found 14 scratches and dents totaling 790$ to fix, along with informing us that the car NEEDED an additional 600$ worth of repairs immediately. I gave James proof of all of this and he laughed and said that it’s not needed and there is nothing wrong with the car and that the CERTIFIED TECHNICIANS were trying to upsell me on a car that is not mine and in an area I do not live in. This man also told me that no one has negotiated car sales since the 90s and that if I rely on the Kelly blue book value that’s “my fault”. He also said that I shouldn’t have gone to this specific dealership, laughed, and said “that makes sense”, despite the dealership employees and experience being competent, thorough, professional, and kind.
While we were calm in the face of blatant condescension by a man at least twice our age, another older man began yelling and making eye contact with us through the glass windows of the office. This man who never introduced himself nor was part of the conversation, then proceeded to swing the door open and yell at us for “wasting everyone’s time”. They were extremely rude and constantly lying. I would have bought the car at full price after attempting to negotiate but changed my mind after we were treated so poorly. Do not trust these people, they are not professional.

I purchased an absolute beauty of a Volvo 240 wagon from Auto Focus and have never experienced a better transaction/communication with a car dealership. From the start, the people in both sales and service were incredibly patient with my questions and primarily how to transport the Volvo from North Carolina to Maine. Perfect; they were detail oriented and worked consistently to make sure everything worked out. The car is exactly as described , an absolute beauty of a classic. So many thanks! Absolutely recommend!

We give AutoFocus 5 stars. We bought a 4runner from AutoFocus about 5 years ago when we lived in North Carolina. We recently drove down from Virginia and bought a second 4runner from AutoFocus. Both times they give us good trade-in allowance and they made sure both 4runners were in excellent condition. The salesman, James, made the experience a pleasure and that everything was to our expectations. We enjoyed being able to sit with the owner of AutoFocus for a while and listened to some great stories. We highly recommend AutoFocus for your next auto purchase. Thanks!

Our family bought four cars from Auto Focus. Two worked out great; two, not so well... but, before I continue; I fully understand these were, as is deals, and it would be unrealistic to think any used car would never require maintenance. My complaint is in regards to our fourth purchase. Our 17 year old bought a used Mercedes with his own, hard earned money which he was very excited about... He even had a wonderful conversation with the owner on the day he picked up his car... All was good... until the radiator leaked into the engine and wrecked the engine... Again; we understood it was an, as is deal, and didn't feel Auto Focus purposely screwed us... but when we contacted James for information; attempting to determine the best way to move forward, he toyed with us in emails and then ghosted us. Something he did once before when I attempted to get information about a hybrid battery in a Prius we'd purchased from them... My point being: James ghosted a 17 year old boy who just lost his first car, and first big investment... and he also ghosted a family who had purchased four cars from the company he works for... In my mind, James represents the entire company... In my mind, James is Auto Focus, because he handled all four sales... And thanks to James; we will never buy another car at Auto Focus, or refer Auto Focus to anyone... In our minds, Auto Focus is just another used car dealer; and one that clearly isn't all that concerned with its customers once the car leaves the lot... Thanks to James.

Spoke with James Garrison regarding a 1999 Accord. Understanding the potential issues of a 26 year old car I specifically asked about rust issues because of where this “one owner gem” came from. He assured me there was no rust. As you can see from the pic there’s more than just a little surface rust. The claim of all service being done was negated by the black, bug filled air cleaner element. The trunk had signs of leakage and rust. Superficial but the car was also dirty. I had to wait for the car to be returned from an alignment because it wasn’t ready for me. I wish I had taken more pictures to reveal the truth about who you may be choosing to do business with. These guys ask a premium for sub par cars. They can say a one star review says something about a customer but this isn’t a customer review, rather a review from a person intelligent enough to read through the lies they are trying to sell you on and walk away. I really hoped it would have been a good interaction. I made the necessary calls for important information and was without a doubt directly lied to. I had to drive over an hour and a half to just be disappointed by the misrepresentation of the vehicle they were selling. I tried to do my due diligence but to no avail. Let this place say what they will but from my personal experience SHOPPER BEWARE. LOOK ELSEWHERE.

This is the best used car dealership ive ever had the pleasure of working with. The guys at Autofocus are honest, trustworty, professional, and they care about selling a quality product all while making the customer happy.I had been searching for an 06-10 v8 explorer for years now (they are surprisingly hard to find), and when one popped up for sale at Autofocus i had some family in the area go check it out for me. I live in northern Virginia and James at Autofocus was immediately accomodating to me being out of state, and was happy to let the family i have in the area drive the vehicle to an independent mechanic to inspect it for me. Once i presented the concerns the other mechanic pointed out, Autofocus immediately validated them and fixed the issue with the explorer before i purchased it. They also made the paperwork process smooth and seamless. The vehicle i wound up with is immaculate. Ive looked at several of these explorers for sale now and ive never seen one this clean. Im excited to have the vehicle ive waited so long for, and the guys at Autofocus made it happen!

I bought a car there in 2011. I brought it home to Idaho. I drove it. 8 love it! It's 2023 and I still drive it. They were overly accommodating, honest, and fair! I've only had one such experience in buying a used. Car and this was it. I would drive cross country again to buy from Auto Focus! This is the way a business should be run. James, you're the best!

I had recently lost my vehicle due to a total loss claim. I was in the market for a new vehicle and stumbled across AutoFocus. The vehicle I was going to possibly buy was currently in the purchase process. So I believe it was Jim who I dealt with. He showed me some vehicles that fit what I was looking for. I couldn’t get the numbers to work on my end. So I’m waiting to save up a bit more. When I am ready I will be checking back in to see their inventory. These guys were class acts. So thank you gentlemen!

We purchased a 2012 Honda Odyssey from them in March 2021. Before we purchased it, we took it to our mechanic that said the power steering drive was about to go out and there were potential problems with the AC. We showed those to Auto Focus mechanics and they said there wasn’t anything wrong with either of those two things. Within six months both the power steering and the AC gave out and when we contacted Auto Focus they did not help us at all. They are scammers. We have never had a Honda van that had so many problems. Do not buy from them.

Over the years we've purchased two cars from James. Unlike many dealers Auto Focus thoroughly inspects and does necessary repairs before putting a for sale sign on their vehicles. Thanks again for a job well done.
