I recently switched from the Banfield inside of PetSmart on Lawndale because 1. You're not allowed in the back unless you request it when making your appt, 2. After my dog's services were completed, the tech just handed me my dog and said she's good without explaining what they did, 3. The front desk personnel didn't want to hear my complaints, 4. PetSmart groomer had to take my dog back and forth trying to complete her nail trim after I noticed one paw hadn't even been trimmed. However, since transferring to Highwoods Ave, I have nothing but praise for them. GREAT STAFF and COMMUNICATION! I was tempted to terminate my pet insurance and go back to a regular vet until I went here.

Very friendly and knowledgeable. I took my sister, who is currently out of town, dog . They were understanding about communicating with the owner everything that was discovered as well as payment. Would recommend 100 percent.

Scheduled an appointment with the Highwoods location for two shots for my cat. She already had a checkup not long ago but was due for vaccines. Should have taken 15 minutes but when I arrived they told me I had to leave her because the vet was not available. Nothing on the website where I scheduled the appointment or the confirmation email indicated that this was a drop off appointment. The person who confirmed the visit by phone said nothing about dropping my cat off. Why would I further traumatize my cat by having her sit in a cage with other barking dogs only to have a stranger treat her without me present? I have no idea why it is so hard to communicate properly about an appointment or why this office does not take the best interest of my cat into consideration.

We unfortunately had to bring our fur baby in to say goodbye and the staff was so lovely, caring and gentle. Dr. Mattocks was amazing and cried along with us. We were in a hard spot trying to get him in to our old vet that sold the practice and I ended up choosing here to go and I am so glad I did. The office is clean and bright and even though it was an awful day, we couldn’t be more grateful for the team that helped us get through it. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts, and we will be sure to bring our other fur baby here from now on.

Update. Let’s just say they are amazing so I’m adding a star!! They even sent me a card and called me again to check in. Seriously, they are pricy but it’s worth it if you love your pet!Well here’s my sad but true story… I started taking my dog here in April. She was seen 4 times and was misdiagnosed every time. Even after blood work and X-rays. It wasn’t until we got an emergency ultrasound that she was correctly diagnosed with something that could have been cured if it was caught in time. She passed away the day after her visit to the emergency vet. What they did do was show compassion and care during the process. They seemed to genuinely care that I loved my dog. They are human and humans make mistakes. So I have to be understanding to that. They even called and offered condolences for my family. Yes I wish they would have known what they were looking at and gave my sweet dog the proper care. I knew that she didn’t have cancer or anything like that but vets are conditioned to think that if it’s not obvious it’s cancer. My dog actually had pneumonia and megaesophagus which could have been treated if everyone wasn’t so determined that she had stomach cancer. I was told if the vomiting meds didn’t work it was cancer. Well, they didn’t work because she wasn’t vomiting, she was regurgitating due to the collapsed esophagus. I honestly didn’t know the difference. They kept her and fed her and watched her burp up the food and not throw it up. Yet they weren’t skilled enough to recognize the difference. None of the vets could properly read the X-rays. I was offered to pay to have an expert read them, but I trusted that they should know what they were looking at. They couldn’t recognize pneumonia on the X-ray. They thought it was a collapsed lung. I honestly feel like they tried, but I wish they would have fixed her in April or any of the multiple visits before August and maybe I could have saved her life.If you do go, make sure you see Dr Mattocks if possible. She really cares about you as a person. She understands that everyone has different financial circumstances. She also respects the relationship that many of us have with our animals and doesn’t push euthanasia. She did offer it and understood that we didn’t want that. She really did try to help us, but she (and multiple others in that office) just missed the opportunity to save a life. She really seemed to take it all in and learn from their mistakes. I think she will recognize the signs in the future and maybe my experience will save another animal. She is the reason for the 4 stars. I really believe in her and I know she means well. Nobody is perfect and it’s all in Gods hands in the end.WHATEVER YOU DO… DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO THE ADAMS FARM LOCATION!!! See my review for more information

Friendly staff, great prices, they are opened on the weekend without weekend price gouging. They really helped out the puppy I brought in. Vet, Vet Tech, and front desk were all super friendly.

Recently have had a kitten treated here and was barely given any information on her conditions and am now having to find other services or treat her myself. This includes:-Not knowing what pet they were giving to me (drop off appointment) and almost giving me the wrong pet.-Not telling me diagnoses. This happened at TWO different appointments. The first one they omitted telling me she had a respiratory illness until I called to follow up, and on both they didn't tell me any of the diagnoses until I insisted on talking to the vet before I left. They just handed me my pet and told me to go.-Not properly treating my pet. I was told my new kitten could possibly have worms, but since they weren't detected they did not prescribe anything as a precaution since it "probably wasn't necessary". She does have worms and now I'm having to find another place to treat her, since they won't let me have a prescription without ANOTHER diagnoses.Overall unprofessional and unhelpful. Only redeeming factor is the hours, but would not recommend any Banfield unless you have to, and you know exactly what your pet needs, because they won't.

We cannot say enough great things about the staff at this Banfield location, particularly Dr. Mattocks. Dr. Mattocks has been our dog’s vet for about four years now and is the most gentle and accommodating veterinary provider we have ever taken our dog to. We highly recommend Dr. Mattocks and this Banfield staff to anyone in the Triad area that is looking for a veterinary clinic.
