Perfect place for a short (3 . 5) mile hike. Lilac asters blooming everywhere in mid October.

You have three great hiking trail options! One is the road you come into, to walk up and down. the other two are dirt pathways in two directions. Nice Pokémon go hunting ground for your tech-savvy people who like an easy trail. Old school restrooms are available! Picnic areas and dog friendly with trash available to dispose.

From Haw River Sp Iron Ore
Haw River State Park is located a few miles north of Greensboro, with The Summit, the park's main access, in Browns Summit. Adjacent to the main property, along the river, is Iron Ore Belt access, which can be accessed from Church Street. This access offers a more traditional state park experience. The Great Blue Heron Loop Trail is a 3.1-mile moderate hike into wetlands, and the access also has picnic areas, one adjacent to the parking lot and one by the river, halfway along the hiking trail.
