I can highly recommend McKinney Sew and Vac!This fall I took up simple sewing again because some friends meet once a week to work on individual sewing projects.I purchased a fairly simple new Singer sewing machine at JoAnn’s in Winston-Salem. Of Course, I’ve had to go back several times for instructions (not on internet instructions) and the McKinney employees are always helpful and kind. They never have charged me even though I got an inexpensive machine! In fact, I’ve liked them so much, I plan to go to their shop in Greensboro for a vacuum cleaner. (Instead of WalMart!)I can’t explain it really but there was something so special, so meaningful to me to purchase something from a business where you could really talk to people about the product. I can highly recommend the thread also! My hats off to McKinney Sewing and Vac!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!Knowledgeable and true professionals.Absolutely the best choice for any machine! Not just a part time drop-in to the fabric shop. You really know your machines, and did an awesome job setting mine right again. You fixed my machine a couple of weeks ago, a Singer about 60 years old. It has not sewn this sweetly in a decade - or two!!It purrs along so wonderfully now.I'm looking forward to all those alterations and adjustments I've wanted to get done.Susan

I brought in my small singer start because the thread kept getting jammed. The son of the owner was really nice in explaining his pricing for service and how my machine probably isn’t worth it. He was really informative and convinced me to go for the Brother LB5000, took his time giving a demo of a few of the features and answered every question/found out the answer. I also got a year of lessons and free repair for the price. I will definitely be back and be checking out their fabric and thread supply next time.

I have always enjoyed doing business with the McKinneys. Their knowledge of machines and willingness to explain, help and teach how to use is wonderful. Carol is a wonderful and patient teacher. I have enjoyed every class I have been in and still use what I learned. THANK YOU!!!

I purchased a previously owned Brother Embroidery Machine and had problems registering the machine in order to purchase Disney designs. Even though it took several attempts to straighten it out, Mike and Sonny were most helpful and patient. Thank you for your help.

When I walked in for a blade for my serger, three employees came out to help me. Even though I didn’t have the model number, they were able to match the blade I brought in and give me the right part. The price was more than you would pay online, but the convenience and service make up for it. This place also has a great variety of sewing supplies - rulers, thread and tools.

I recently took my brother VM5200 in for embroidery issues. Blake and Sunny were very helpful. Blake did several tests and explained the results. He was quite knowledgeable and very courteous. The issue got resolved. I highly recommend McKinney Sew and Vac.

They were able to take my vacuum apart to get out a sock I had accidentally sucked up and they’ve maintenanced a sewing machine for me. Both times they were so nice and welcoming as soon as I stepped in the door. Wouldn’t go anywhere else for my vacuum and sewing needs!

I took a wonderful class at Mckinney and Sew Happy with Carol. It was one of the best, most informative and fun classes I have had in quite a while. We learned how to use the kazillion different stitches that come with the machines, all the while making 2 blocks a month that looked absolutely beautiful when completed.

I bought my machine from them, they are extremely nice, very helpful and always in a great mood when I've done something to mess up the machine. I highly recommend McKinney, I won't go any where else.

Blake and Sunny (forgive me if the names are wrong) were so welcoming and helpful when I brought my old machine in and toured the shop my first time there. My machine hadn't been used in years and definitely needed a tune up. Unfortunately it was broken and the plastic parts were not made anymore(mind you my machine was like a inexpensive plastic beginner machine from nearly 15 years ago) and they didnt charge me a dime. I will definitely purchase my new and better machine from them. Sunny answered all of my questions and never pressured me to buy from them. He offered me options and was really informative. Top notch service, honesty and assistance. Thank you!
