I'm hurt and disappointed the professional relationship had to end this way. As a small business owner myself, I try to refrain from leaving a bad review, unless the situation really calls for it. Do not trust Ron Davis with your financials.First of all as someone who runs a business of 100+ clients by myself while raising young children, I know what being busy looks like. I NEVER expected this office to drop what they were doing and cater to me. I felt comfortable leaving my tax info in the office until they could get to it, however after nearly 7 weeks of leaving it on the desk, I checked in. Cathy's response, 'Well yeah, it's done but you're going to have to come up here and sign for it like every other year.'Not so much as a courtesy call or email to let me know it was finished. Weeks later after wondering why I'd not received my direct deposit, I checked back and was told someone selected for a paper check. I asked why this happened and Cathy became defensive stating that it was my job to look over everything carefully before signing. I was very confused because last year they called to give me the option for direct deposit, took down all of my account info and had it processed. I brought up that they'd offered that option in the past and asked why I wasn't given the option this year, as well as asked if they keep client notes or pertinent bank info in their system. I explained I'd assumed we'd be doing business the same as last year. She was very unapologetic. Those are just the minor inconveniences compared to what happened next.A few days after these conversations took place I received a letter from the IRS stating they could not accept my S corp filing. Ron had recommended that I elect that option back in 2020 and I took his word for it and trusted his professional judgement. When I called about the letter, he asked me to email a copy, as well as assured me he'd take a look. During that convo I asked about the letter and why my filing wasn't being accepted, he stated the IRS was so behind they probably hadn't fully processed it yet. Again I trusted his professional opinion. I called back on the date he specified (April 25th) and he wouldn't even take my phone call. He had his secretary screen my call to tell me he was too busy. I explained to Cathy that he'd assured me multiple times he'd take care of it and asked why he would waste almost a whole month with such a time sensitive issue, and her only response was, ' he's busy that's all I know.' I was and still am completely dumbfounded. He knew I'd only had 30 days to respond and didn't care one bit that he left me hanging-Luckily I was able to hire a C.P.A. Last minute, with only about 4 days to answer this letter, but it shouldn't have been that way. To make matters even worse, after having a competent C.P.A. Take a look, it was an error on Ron's part all along. Had he paid more attention to what he'd filled, he'd have seen there was a discrepancy with the date. He left me hanging, in stress mode trying to find someone to fix his mistakes. I had to shell out $1,200 to get someone qualified to fix a simple error on his part.My husband even said 'I don't know why you use them, they talk to you like you're stupid.' And they do. I never took it personally, I just took it in stride and did what they asked me to do, because I trusted them. The way they did business from last year to now is night and day. I do believe there was a time Ron took great care of his clients, as he came highly recommended on a matter he helped a friend through about 5 years back. Times have changed and I feel sorry for who might inherit this business after he retires. I hope whoever it is down the line uses much better business practices, but after this experience I'll only trust a C.P.A. (Which Ron is not) while I don't doubt the IRS is behind in processing, he was just paying me lip service to get me off the phone. He isn
