-5 for ratings. This place I a scam. They advertise $10 down/ $10 month, without telling you it's and extra $2.50 monthly if you pay with you debit or credit card. Also, having a MVP membership status change without notice, at one point you could bring anyone at any time of any age, without notice having an embarrassing moment bringing your kid to the gym to workout with you for them to tell you your kid need a membership to workout with you cause they not 18 years of age. Then to top that, you drop dow from a MVP membership to a basic membership they automatically e-sign for you from where they have you e-signature on file from previous years, and in order to to cancel you have to pay $49. Ridiculous

I came across some of the recent low ratings for this gym and couldn't believe what I was reading. I've had nothing but good experiences since I joined this past January as a complete newbie. The staff is friendly, helpful and very inclusive. I have never once felt I don't belong here even though I'm far from a typical gym member at 63 years old. It's a joy to see so many people of all sizes, ages, colors and heritages. While many gyms advertise "no judgment", FC actually practices it here in Greenville. The facility is kept clean and the numerous sanitizing stations are usually well-stocked. When a machine is down for service it only takes 1-2 weeks for it to be up and running again. Although I've only just started working with one of FC's awesome personal trainers, I've observed many sessions while working out on my own over the past year and can say the trainers here are truly focused on helping their clients meet goals while remaining reasonable in their expectations. I still can't believe that with all the amenities, great staff and diverse clientele, this gym membership only costs me $10 a month (and is free for my husband, who is a Silver Sneakers member!). I visited and toured most of the gyms in the area before joining, and FC beat them all for the reasons I mentioned above. Thanks to FC I'm getting stronger and more fit every day.

The membership policy is horrible! When you cancel they make you pay for another month after you cancel! Horrible company!

DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THESE RIP OFF ARTISTS! The website says you can cancel in person, but they will not honor that. My contract is up in October but we canceled in person in August as we were moving to where there is no Fitness connection. The guy at the gym said they would send us a reminder that it is time to cancel. (Lie) I didn't trust that so I emailed the gym with my cancellation request and my reason to cancel. No response. (Rude) At any rate, I called today to confirm cancellation is complete. Cust service says my 30 days starts today so they'll be charging me again.. She said that there's no record we went into the gym to cancel and since they didn't answer my email cancellation, they don't have to honor it. Terrible customer service. It's a grimy old gym in the first place without enough fans so there is no good reason to join. Skip it and head over to Planet Fitness to deal with an honest business and nice gym.

Love the instructors. The facility does not have an upstairs restroom. And the speaker in the aerobic room has been malfunction for quite some time. But the staff is nice and the place is clean.

Gym can be dirty. Hours are really bad. They are only open 7-7 on Saturdays and only 10-6pm Sunday. So basically if I work I can't go to the gym. Management is poorly run.

My favorite college gym — Best-equipped with every piece of machinery you could need in a gym facility. This location is one of the few with a two-story mezzanine, CrossFit room, wall-ball room, personal trainers and saunas. As most gyms are, this location is ideal during business hours and gets progressively busier until between 5-8pm. However, I never felt I was waiting more than 3 minutes for a piece of equipment.Though this facility is incredibly affordable (which attracts a large group of people), the team keeps their cleanliness and machine maintenance up to par. My only complaint is that this location does not have a pool, which i find is a great bonus to many other locations. All in all — helpful staff & healthy atmosphere. ??

Was a member here through several company changes. So disappointed when the steam room was removed!!!!!!!!!!! It was so relaxing at the end of a hard workday and after working out! A town like Greenville should have at least one gym with steam and sauna, and preferably a hot tub too! Sure wish we had a YMCA, or some other gym with all amenities that once drew members to Planet Fitness/Golds/Pulse/ Greenville Athletic Club!

I’m a long term member and my wife was a member of Golds back in the day. I used to love this gym but recently it has gotten very crowded at all times of day. The variety of equipment is great but what good is it if I can’t use what I want half the time? I hope corporate can reel this in soon somehow. I’d have already left if I could find a convenient and comparable gym. I shouldn’t leave my workout frustrated from battling crowds. And BTW the abandoned pool is an eyesore you need to do something with it.Update - well someone from FC was kind enough to acknowledge my concerns so that’s appreciated. But my review stands. You’re smart enough to know what I mean and the only thing I really want is results. As a working adult I want to be able to hit the gym once maybe twice during the week to squeeze in a workout at a time when it shouldn’t be crowded. I don’t want to have to battle crowds or be unable to use equipped because others are in no hurry, loitering and socializing on the equipment, clearly in no hurry to return to work. So please tell us all, what are you going to do about it?Attention competitors, if you can match the equipment variety, there’s a good opportunity here for a new gym limited to members age 25 and older.

Gym is a little dated, but plenty of equipment to get a decent workout.

For someone looking for a short membership there is no way around the $49 application fee and a $50 annual fee charged the 20th day after you sign up. That’s $120 per person the first month of signing up with a two month minimum and a 30 day notice required to cancel. Not worth it!

It's a pretty good gym. Been going here for about a year.
