I hate to leave bad reviews especially for services but this was a really bad experience. I really wanted to leave a good one. I had seen Alissa previously a few years back and she did an excellent balayage. The treatment plus toner used to take 4 or so hours, maybe more, but that was fine it’s balayage, it was pretty standard. I asked for balayage with toner again this time, and it was done in 2.5ish hours? I commented on it being quicker and she said she’s gotten way faster since it took so long before. That should’ve been a red flag. My hair did lift way quicker but come to find out the developer was STRONG, way too strong for my hair. I didn’t get what I asked for anyway. I paid $130 for balayage and I had 2 hair stylists look at it and both said it was a partial highlight. I could’ve gotten that for $50 even in Durham. There was no color anywhere underneath. The toner wasn’t giving red like in the pictures. I just moved on but when I washed my hair the first time ALL of the color fell out, literally washed down the drain before my eyes with cold water and color safe shampoo. My hair was ORANGE it looked hideous. I don’t even want to share the picture. My stylist in Durham dyed it red to try to save it, and guess what. That completely washed out the next wash. My hair is so overdeveloped from Alissa’s highlight placement/ technique that it cannot hold color. After several days and treatments I used a semi permanent brown to even it out. Fell out with the deep conditioner which was also color safe. so I put temporary color conditioner on which kind of covers the roots. Overall wasted $145 at spencer & co including tip for some messed up bronde PARTIAL highlights. I am so disappointed and will never be back. Don’t cut corners to save time at the sake of your clients hair… both stylists think she may have used one of the most intense developers, my hair is usually thick and strong. I am so so sad. I will attach a photo of what I wanted and the clearly not balayage bronde highlights. The pic of my hair was an hour after the service. I wish I got pictures of the back and underside because that was not balayage.

20+ years with this salon. The salon is always clean; the people are friendly and my stylist does my hair exactly the way I want! Could not ask for a better experience. Each stylist has their own room which personalizes the interaction.

Jessica B. did a great job. She gave me exactly what i asked for. I love love love my new cut. I'm so particular about anyone new touching my hair but my regular stylist was unavailable and I really needed this asap. No regrets. I've lost count on the number of compliments I've gotten....
