9/2/2026 Update: 4 years later and I have just had the worst customer service experience with their service department. The outcome I’m unhappy about is directly from Chevrolet but the disappointing service is 100% within Phelps Chevrolet’s control. Not 1 smile, I felt I was an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. So, be warned, while my initial sales experience was stellar, do not expect the same treatment from the service team when you have a problem. When I asked what are my options, Sam said flatly “don’t fix it”. For reference, 2 parts on the electronics have “gone bad” affecting my air bags, ability to use any Onstar services including internet, and the upper console will not open the hatch. As expensive as new tahoes are, I certainly would not have expected this to happen in 4 years. 1 part is out of stock and they cannot even tell me an estimate on when it might become available again. The total cost for replacing these 2 bad parts is $1700! Again, that may be all on Chevrolet but the service department is the face and deliverer. Definite difference in level of service after the sale!”

“I visited Pecheles Hyundai today for an oil change and tire rotation. My appointment was at 7:45 AM. Upon walking in, I was immediately greeted by one of the two employees in the service area. Acknowledging a customer goes a long way. The young man’s name was Lane. He was very pleasant and personable. He answered all my questions and kept me updated on everything that was going on during my service. I hope that the dealership will take very good care of this young man while employed there. He will be an asset to the establishment and a blessing to the customers he works with. Great job, Lane!”
“I was visiting Greenville to see my daughter at ECU and driving a rental car. I ran over something -- turns out it was a screw -- and got a flat tire. Managed to put air in the tire at the gas station across the street from my hotel, enough to drive the two miles to Master Tire on a Saturday morning. Sam took great care of me: he found the screw and patched the tire. The whole thing took less than 30 minutes and cost half that, but I threw in a little more on top. Highly recommended!”

“Trevor is a saint. I purchased a 2018 Subaru Forester from Carvana if Charlotte and had it inspected by Capital Subaru who found that the front brakes were only at 3mm, two tires were dry-rotted, two practical bald (225/60/17), and the whole vehicle was out of alignment. Silver Roc, the warranty company for Carvana, insisted that an in-network auto care center inspect the vehicle to confirm the original findings. Trevor scheduled me for the first available on 05/06/26 at 10am. He spent four hours off and on with Silver Roc, providing picture after picture for documentation of the abysmal state of the tires, rotors and brakes. He firmly insisted on speaking with a supervisor when Silver Roc initially declined everything. He walked me through all of the documentation and the procedures. He was grace under pressure and an absolute godsend. He was the most patient and professional person I have dealt with throughout the process. I highly recommend him, and Firestone by default.”

“The Briley crew was nice to install my Tire Rack tires in the past, but they don’t want to do it anymore.
I just went to Discount Tire and they said very few places are willing to install Tire Rack tires anymore.. Waylon at Import Services sends Import exotics to Discount Tires because they will not scratch the wheels, even the lowest profile tire/rim set ups. They have the best tire changing machines, he said. And whenever possible, they will use floor jacks. Which I think is pretty cool.
They did it while I waited, less than 30 minutes out the door, 125 bucks.”

“Headed to Greenville from Wilmington for a short work meeting, realized before I headed back home that there was something sharp stuck in my tire, slowly letting air out. Called Dickenson Ave after having no luck at Walmart and he said to bring it on over. Super nice gentleman who patched my tire for me quick and easy and he also made sure my tire pressure for all four tires was good to go before I made my trip back home. Highly recommend!”

I told them what my car was doing he told me it sounded like the front tires needed to be balanced. Most shops would've just sold me 3 tires and sent me on my way. Its so nice to find a honest shop”

I read some of these comments why are these people trying to give Mr. Tire a bad name it doesn't make since well anyway you can't please everybody. I feel like this if your not pleased with the work go back and tell them so they can correct the problem that's all. It's just like any other business if they don't do a good job and your not satisfied take it back don't take to someone else to fix it take it back. If you go have your car washed and he is a professional cleaner you see he missed a few spots on your car and a few spots on your seats are you going to take it else where to get done over again spending more money or are you going to take it back to where it was done at to correct what he missed and free. Take your pick.
