At least once a week packages are mis-delivered. It's a Saturday and the carrier left the entire neighborhood's parcel locker unlocked and since the post office closed half an hour ago its going to stay unlocked the rest of the weekend. Yet they'll blame customers for missing mail.

Would rate lower if I could! Came in with a box of prepaid packages and was denied service!! They said we could drop them off in the bin, but they could only take 30 and “can’t guarantee they’ll get there”. I asked if they could scan a few of them and they replied with no. I asked why and all they kept saying was “because I said no” and that they other customers to help… I WAS THE ONLY ONE IN THERE, after I combated with that she said she had other things to do in the back even after I told her that I wasn’t asking the entire box to be scanned and asked if she could at least scan 10-15 and she told me no and that she’d scan only 3!! I’ve been to this post office and others several times and it’s never been a problem!! How are small business supposed to get their packages sent out!! Highly disappointed and will never be coming back!

Every time I go to this office, the staff is friendly.
They go the extra mile to make sure I receive my packages shipped to me. Even on holidays like Christmas, the staff have smiles on their faces. Thank you Hampstead PO team.

I'm not sure what provoked the low ratingings but I find this post office to be extremely helpful, Chris in particular. My daughter had a package showing delivered at 8 PM the previous evening, but it was not there.
This morning I made an an online missing package report through USPS.com post office. When complete, it advised to expect a reply by email, within 1-3 DAYS. Within 2 HOURS, I received a call from Chris, at the Hampstead office, profusely apologizing for the mistake. He provided details of where it had been delivered & promised to correct the error immediately. He then followed up this afternoon, with a 2nd call, letting me know it was safe & sound, at my home.
I consider that to be exceptional customer service. Mistakes happen with the volume of mail being processed each day and while frustrating, I think a little grace is in order. Job well done, Hampstead post office, keep up the great work.

I finally received resolution on the delay of mail delivery, and evidently the problem is with the Charlotte hub. Melissa was very kind, courteous, and professional in helping me with my issue.

We have had horrible experiences with this location, placed a forwarding address almost a month ago and have not received the first piece of mail. They lost our taxes that were mailed to Charlotte, NC, we now have to file an extension and find all our info again! All the while no one is concerned, would like to know where we can file a formal complaint.

I’ve never had so many problems when it comes to mail delivery. Multiple packages have been damaged, mail that made it through processing and in my informed delivery emails go missing, and multiple pieces of mail have been clearly opened. Customer service in the post office is fine, but the letter carrier is careless and appears to be digging through and/or stealing mail and nothing is resolved when reported. Mail is still missing from months ago.

Update: Alex found and delivered my package and was an absolute professional. Thank you Alex for taking the time to find it and explaining to me the mishap. This is by far the worse USPS location I’ve ever dealt with. Our carrier continues to leave packages at the wrong address, leaves keys to other mailboxes (box deliveries) inside the wrong mailboxes and today I just had enough after an important package was once again misplaced after saying it was delivered to my address. I decided to call and it went horrendous. The First individual I spoke to at the Hampstead location (will keep the name unknown to respect privacy), was absolutely zero help. After explaining to them that my package was supposed to be delivered and said it had been 2 hours prior, they informed me that they have no control over when it says it was delivered. I questioned this and asked for them to explain to me who in fact is the one who scanned it then for that info? From that this individual informs me that’s NOT how I asked the first time and they indeed are the ones who was is it was delivered. I basically informed them that was the exact same thing I said and were just mixing words. They looked into my package and sure enough, it was delivered somewhere else unknown. They ask if I wanted to speak to a supervisor and I said absolutely. The supervisor gets on the phone and right off that bat I inform them that I was really frustrated and apologized in advance. I explained to them what was going on currently and why there were so many complaints they’ve been receiving and they concurred that there had been numerous. The supervisor then explains that our neighborhood has the same numbers on houses and it’s very confusing. I explained that after that numerical number comes letters that are street names and why is that so confusing. I was so frustrated I called the carrier “crazy” and oh you would have thought that I made a disrespectful, disturbing, disgusting remark or threat about the supervisors mother. They were very upset, and said they would not tolerate “name calling” (lol?), and informed me they’d have to have someone “come all the way up there” to see if they could locate my package if I wanted it today. I said that would be great, and that I didn’t know that was an option as that’s the first it had been mentioned. The supervisor then informs me “I just told you”, like I was an idiot. Why wouldn’t you say way before? Anyways they give me their name and office number and told me to call them next time something like this happens. I respectfully ask them if I could post that information on our neighborhood page due to such a high volume of missing parcel. The supervisor fires back at me and says, “when they ask I’ll tell them you were posting other people’s information”. I stopped and asked them to explain that comment as I was genuinely asking their permission. The supervisor said “and what did I tell you?” I literally mumbled their name and just hung up. I hope they record these calls and after listening to them perhaps take a class on customer relations or for this person maybe a class on professionalism given her managerial position. It really seemed like both individuals were just antagonizing me to see how they could further complicate the situation.

After a miserable experience with the USPS main office, and a "postal inspector" trying to help me locate a package, my case was accidentally sent back to my home post office in Hampstead. What a stroke of good luck ! My post office in Hampstead has always been great, but they took over an investigation that wasn't even supposed to go to them, and my older brother got the gift we sent him in time for his birthday ! The staff at USPS in Hampstead went above and beyond, and we are so grateful ! Thank you !

Carriers like to shove packages in mailboxes without knowing what's in them. I've had 2 things break now that they could of easily put on the porch or under my car port. Instead they cram it into my mailbox.

Looks like we have a new deliverly person. Whom ever they are, they are not well trained or a bit lazy. They are stuffing boxes into the mail box, that are too large, leaving a difficult time for retrieving the package. Also, this person left a message saying "sorry we missed you", but we were home, cars in the lot. They also stated there was no where to leave the box due to the rain. However there were several places with coverage. so much for the USPS motto.

Mail is put in other's mailboxes. Carrier says no access to residence, but FedEx, UPS and all the residents come in and out with no problem. I am disabled and have to get someone to gather my mail, but it's frustrating to them to have to chase it down. Depend on carrier to deliver medical supplies and medication,. I call, but my speech is impaired due to a stroke and they seem frustrated. The mail is delayed the second day in retaliation. When they get old and or disabled, I hope they receive better treatment or service. I gave one star for the one nice lady I spoke with one day...zero stars for carrier.

I can't say I understand the bad reviews. As US Post Offices go, I think the help here is friendly, and doing the best they can. I can't say I have ever had anything lost or misdirected. They've been helpful, and advise me on best package mailing choices, and I'm not sure what else I would expect from them.
