Very knowledgeable coaching staff, friendly environment, and hard-working gym members. The gym is small, yet organized and fully equipped for dedicated Weightlifting and sports performance training. Coach Dan Rose has build an amazing community, and I encourage anyone interested in Weightlifting to check it out!

Coach Dan has the great marks of a good coach. He's observant, careful, and has the keen ability to let you know exactly what to improve in a succinct, personal way. The gym is clean, but utilitarian; this is definitely a gym about lifting.

If you don’t already know, the HWC is one of the top Weightlifting clubs in the country, not just in NC. There are over 27,000 members in USA Weightlifting. About 30 train inside our gym, and so far 16 have stood on the National Podium to receive a medal.
We have National medalists in every division, from Youth, U25, Junior, and University level lifters, to Senior and Masters level lifters. We’ve had 10 National Champions across those divisions, since 2016. Our female lifters and male lifters are equally impressive. Between 2021 and 2022 alone, 13 of our lifters (7 males and 6 females) won medals at the National Championships, with 6 of those lifters being crowned National Champions (3 males and 3 females).
