“I have been a patient of WNC Family Medical Center for many years. Recently our cat, Hedy Lamarr, bit me on the back of my right hand one night. By morning my hand was badly swollen with my fingers almost gnarled in a fist. I made an appointment to see Ginger Davis, FNP, since my doctor Larry J. Russell was not available. Ginger immediately prescribed two antibiotics. Over the next several weeks I saw Ginger four times and received excellent care. She was terrific and very helpful. Ginger finally referred me to Dr. Samuel Abrams at Southestern Orthopedics because I finally was unable to straighten my middle and fourth fingers. I saw Dr. Abrams this morning and I'm scheduled for surgery next week to repair tendons in my hand damaged by the infection caused by the cat bite even though the antibiotics ended the infection.
