Came in for a random drug screening from my employer. Service was good, examiner was nice and was seen very quickly. During the paper work after completing the drug screen, I asked her to attach a paper to be sent in with my screening. She said, “that wasn’t necessary to do so and it will be fine without it.” However, after she sent confirmation via computer, she told me “it probably would have been better if she had attached the paper and could have done so.” After asking another personal question she responded to me with one thing and after I left, I called the front desk to make sure that was the correct information and was told a contradicting answer as the examiners. Leaving me confused of which answer may be accurate. Hoping this helps the employees to be trained and informed of the legitimate policy.Best regards,Josh

I met with Rick and he was wonderful! I had a tooth taken out on the Tuesday prior and by Friday was in a lot of pain. He took one look and new what I needed. Something for infection and pain. He was really kind, efficient and timely...which is very important when you are in pain. Thanks Rick!!!!Gina McWhirter

I was extremely frustrated yesterday when I had an appointment for both of my daughters at the Hickory location at 11:15. I pulled in to find out the store was closed. I understand completely things happen that is out of our control but in this situation I would have understood a little better if I would have received a phone call informing me the appointments would be canceled. I received nothing! I had to find another route for my daughter's to get sports physicals done which is extremely hard to do considering it was on a Saturday. Neither one of my girls could have participated in sports next week had I not figured out another alternative. I decided to call the Lenoir location which was a huge inconvenience considering I live 45 minutes away but they were able to fit them in thankfully. Last year was my first time visiting Fast Med in Hickory. The people were extremely friendly and I loved that aspect of it but I was there for 3 hours just for two sports physicals that I had made an appointment for. I have to say, I will not likely be visiting Fast Med again in the future considering both experiences I had with the Hickory location. Just wish Lenoir was closer and I would definitely give them a second chance.

I came in from out of town and let me just say the wait time was outrageous. I had a slot for 1:30 came in at 12:4” was checked in at 1:30 wasn’t seen until 2:40 for COVID like symptoms I have asthma couldn’t even stand or sit was in so much pain. The receptionists were great very friendly. Cleanliness was great the dr could’ve shown more compassion I also had to be swabbed 3xs as a mes tech UNNECESSARY and the response was that the sample was “bad”. I really had to advocate for my own health here. Me personally I wouldn’t return.

I went to Fast Med on a Sunday morning recently. The front check in person was polite, professional and took down my information. I waited in the lobby about 10 minutes. When I was called to the exam room the assistant was also polite, professional and gathered information about my illness and took my vital signs. The assistant already had orders to get a strep swab, so that was completed before the doctor came in. The doctor came in about 10 minutes later and gave results of testing, asked questions regarding symptoms, then completed my exam. The doctor gave diagnosis, explained the medications that I needed. I was given the opportunity to ask any questions and at discharge I received papers regarding diagnosis, and medication instructions as well as side effects. The visit was efficient, timely, and I was glad I went. The facility itself was very clean and organized.I would recommend Fast Med to family and friends. I work as a nurse myself and I was very satisfied with my care.

Thank you to the Staff of FastMed- Essence, Melanie and Dr Rick. I had to take my young son to FastMed late in the evening for pain he was having without an appointment. Check in was smooth and fast. There was a wait but that was expected as we were a walk in. Melanie, did vitals and was very efficient and kind. Dr Rick, was very sympathetic to my sons pain and made him feel at ease. After determining the issue, he was great to send over the prescription to the pharmacy and write a note for school the following day. Without an appointment we were still in and out in about an hour. This is the 5th time over several years that we have needed this Urgent care and have always received great care.

The staff from the admin assistant at the front desk to the nurse and PA that treated me, were engaging, friendly and professional. Wait time was at a minimal and the PA was very knowledgeable. Great experience. If I'm in the area again, I would visit this place and recommend it.

This is the best place to get amazing and great in & out time! Elaine who checked me in was great as well as Cole who took my vitals and asked why I was there. Dr. Rick was awesome!!! He took the time to listen. He was great about everything due to my injury. He took his time allowing me to ask questions. He went above and beyond to take care of my injury and also got me in & out of FastMed very fast as opposed to sitting in the ER or hours. I would recommend Dr. Rick to everyone!!!!!

I came for an employer required drug test for a new job and had to come after work but made sure I was there before 7:30 pm as requested per our phone conversation. Everything looked nice and 2 staff members I interacted with were efficient; however they were very business-like. I imagine they were tired and ready to go home since your office closes at 8:00 but I left there at 7:45 so didn't cause any closing delays. Friendliness and smiles go such a long way in leaving positive lasting impressions thus my 4 - not 5 star rating.

Essence greets you with a warm smile as soon as you come in then Melanie puts you at ease when she calls you back to a room. My husband HATES going to the doc but he had no choice today. I am so thankful to Rick for making sure that all the questions were answered and that we were comfortable with everything before we left. I only have good things to say about this urgent Care, the wait is minimal and the staff is amazing!

I wouldn't even give it a one star if I could. Long appointment wait, over an hour. No notice that they do NOT go through insurance. Why would they not notify you about this while making your appointment and still ask for your insurance information if they don't go through insurance? Odd. The lady at the front wasn't very friendly and spoke so quiet I have no idea what she was saying I had to ask her to repeat herself over and over again. We will not be back.

From the moment I arrived, I was treated with nothing but kind professionalism. Essence checked me in so fast, Sue covered all the bases, and Rick was very knowledgeable. I was in and out so fast. I left with everything and all of the information I could possibly have wanted/needed and more.

I had to go to urgent care and saw Dr. Richard Poole. There was no wait time, and they were open on the 4th of July. He was very polite, caring and understanding. He went the extra mile to help me in my crisis and I am so thankful for that. The staff was also extremely nice.
