Great produce and product selection. Poor customer service. Today was my first time, I was super excited to try my first imagination watermelon. Left feeling kinda bummed out though because the two girls at the checkout seemed rude. Loved everything I purchased but would have been a better experience without the attitudes and eye rolling. (Visited Thursday 5-18-23 around 5pm).

Such a neat little place. Large variety of healthy plants to choose from, all kinds of unique goodies inside and the customer service is fantastic. Someone is always willing to take their time to help and does it with kindness and respect. I'll be back!

This is a nice little store. We got our Christmas tree here. I went inside to check out the merchandise. It's definitely "Viewmont pricing". I am able to get most of the products and produce they offer at the apple houses in Taylorsville at better prices. Still very neat, and I'll likely stop in again.

LOVE Fresh Market Produce!!! I stop in frequently just to pick up 1 or 2 things and other times I will have a cart full of produce, cookie mixes, meat, unique canned options of jelly or jam, veggies, honey, a homemade dishcloth, and some fresh bread. I really like going to the Hickory Farmers Market but sometimes I can't go during their open hours on Saturday or Wednesday, that's why I am so thankful for the Fresh Market Produce. They are always open when I need something.

TL/DR: Best place to buy top quality food items in Viewmont.I've driven by this roadside market for years, but I'd never stopped. This business is located on highway 127, a main four lane thoroughfare, in the upscale Viewmont section of Hickory. Getting in and out of the place is a nightmare. Why? Because there is seldom a break in traffic. Once one is able to get into their gravel parking lot, and I use that term loosely, one will find only about ten willy-nilly parking spaces. If you drive too far on the right side or behind the building you're going over a cliff. I suggest using one's parking brake. ;o)As one walks toward the front of the business there are three or four shopping carts, three of which bear the Food Lion logo. LOLThis looks like the business was formerly an old gas station, and a tiny one at that. There is a covered section out front, where I imagine the old gas pumps used to be located. Most of the melons, fruit, flowers and plants are showcased under this covered metal awning. I appreciated that fact on a hot August day in the Carolinas. The produce? Wow. Ginormous cantaloupes were only $3.50 each. That is far less expensive than most local supermarkets. Small watermelons were $5.00 and "large" oblong watermelons were $9.00. I thought that those prices were a little high, but what do I know? They had blackberries the size of one's entire thumb for $7.50 a quart. Muscadine grapes were on display, along with beautiful white peaches, plums, etc. (There are nice photos and inventory updates on their Facebook page: facebook.com/FreshMarket…)I bought two delicious cantaloupes on Saturday. They're already gone. I ate them for breakfast and dessert. So, I decided to drive back today for more. I grabbed one of the shopping carts, because four LARGE cantaloupes are impossible to carry while shopping. The front door is barely wide enough for the cart to fit inside. I sorta felt like a bull in a China shop, but with a little courtesy from everyone it worked out. There are ample plastic bags. The interior of the shop is maybe 30 feet wide by 20 feet deep...tiny. My next purchase was three heirloom tomatoes. You know, the weird shaped, alien looking, tomatoes that are brightly colored and delicious. They were large, heavy, dead ripe, and delicious. I put two slices of heirloom tomato on a Wendy's Dave's Triple, and to quote George Takei (Sulu) from Star Trek: "oh my." There were other types of vegetables on the shelves as well: zucchini, cucumbers, okra, potatoes...the basics. There were only a few choices, but everything at this market is top quality. The cold chests were filled with every manner of cinnamon buns, quiches, ice cream, pecan pies, brown eggs, bacon, cheese from Ashe County NC, and specialty made pimento cheese - to name but a few items. I bought a large tub of the HOT pimento cheese for dipping with WASA crackers. (Note: Toasted pimento cheese is better than toasted American cheese sandwiches. And pimento cheese and bacon are fantastic on a burger with slices of dead ripe heirloom tomatoes.)I bought some tiny homegrown cold cucumbers, which I plan to do as my father did, namely peel and slice the cucumbers. I will put these into a bowl with apple cider vinegar and onion slices to marinate in the refrigerator overnight or a day or two. These make wonderful additions to a salad or eaten by themselves. My father did this often, because we had acres of garden when I was a boy. In total I spent $44.00. The melons were $14.00 for all four. I don't know where the other $30 came from. Bacon. Pimento cheese. Heirloom tomatoes. Cucumbers. Thirty dollar's worth? I guess that it adds up? IDKGenerally, the female employees are VERY friendly and helpful. The women that rang me up last Saturday were happy, smiling, and super nice. But the young girl who helped me today gave off a BAAAAD vibe. She wasn't friendly. And she kept looking at me sideways without smiling. She acted like she didn't want to help me empty my cart. I don't kn
