I was happy to find Hertz Car Rental because it was a great alternative to other rent-a-car places in town.

Went in for an SUV and ended up with a sedan instead. That was all well and good because I had asked the team member helping me at the time to let me know when they got a SUV in by Thursday 11 Sep 2025 so I could replace the sedan instead.
Fast forward to Thursday and I call to ask if they had gotten any SUVs in that o could swap out. According to the representative that I spoke to, Kendall, there were no SUVs available and I would have to go to another location to get an SUV. So because they aren’t able to plan ahead properly I have to go out of my way to go get an SUV, fine I’ll do that I say to Kendall. I then ask him if he can call any other locations and see where the closest available SUV would be and he said ‘no’ because he didn’t know where would be the most convenient location for me to drive to. I’m wasn’t asking him to make a hundred calls to different locations, I was just wanting to know if he could help me to find the closest one and he flat out refused. Hertz will never be getting my business again for being so blatantly disrespected as a customer.

Rental from this location in Hickory was completely satisfactory except for not being allowed to leave my personal vehicle on site at all while using the rental car. This situation was completely unknown to me until I arrived to pick up the car.

Rented a car to go to Tennessee noticed half way up the road noticed an ant killed it then I felt a bite on my ankle then car was infested with ants had to return and switch car out at another location 1 hr out of the way when I finally returned the new car that I was given and told the rep about my problems he had no empathy didn't offer any kind of apology never renting a car there again

If I could give it zero stars. Reserved via Priceline which told me it was Dollar. Drove 45 minutes to pick up vehicle and got lost because couldn't find Dollar. We called at 4:50 to ask where they were. We were close by and told them we would be there in 5 minutes. We confirmed our reservation with a somewhat rude person at the location. We arrived a few minutes before 5 and nobody was there. We drove back home 45 minutes. In the morning we drove back 45 minutes only to be told by an extremely disrespectful and rude manager that they had no car for us. Another drive back home 45 minutes and no rental car. I contacted corporate and after over two weeks they said the person at the store said he waited for us until 5:10. Flat out lie. We knocked on the door and windows and drove around the property. Sorry for your inconvenience was their response. Stay away from this Hertz location.

We rented two cars a month ahead for our vacation trip however, two days before our trip, they call us and said that they have no van for us. This is unprofessional and unacceptable. This is a serious lack of reliability and for inventory management. Now we're stuck dealing with their mistake at the worst possible time.

Kendall knew we weren’t wanting to spend a fortune and we needed to safe and have confidence in our rental. He suggested the add- ons that were relevant and we benefited from and didn’t blow smoke about things that weren't a priority for us! Thanks for being a great business man with the right amount of ethics ! We appreciate you and will see you for our next trip! Mississippi trip 2025!

I rented a vehicle from this office to travel to NY state and back. I had reserved a car at another rental company, but on arrival, they did not have a car for me. So I was desperate to find a car for my trip. The branch manager at Hertz was very helpful in pointing me to the right car for the trip and also guided me to the best rate for the rental. I was very happy with the overall experience.

Terrible ! Worst experience . The discrimination i felt at this place is out this world . I went to rent a car 2 days . The way they looked at our appearance their entire prescriptive changed . Worst service those boys in there are not men those are still children . The rates were high but it was okay i was able to pay it was the fact they kept saying i needed this i needed be over the age limit etc. all because they were lazy and like i said still boys . I went to a place 10 mins up the road and i got a rental within 10MINS OF JUST BEGIN THERE !!! Ill never go there again and i work in business so i know that isnt no way you handle customers who work hard their money just to be looked less than . If you work hard for your money dont give these people a cent or second of your time. I-was there for 5 mins and they kept giving me the run around .

I went online and had a mid-size vehicle reserved a week in advance. I was needing it for a one way trip to Michigan. First issue was the person running my debit card ran it the first time and it was declined due to my bank putting a fraud alert on my account. I was unaware of the fraud alert as well as him running the card a second time. After I called my credit union to fix the issue I was told that they could not use my card again because their system only allows 2 declines and then it will not allow it to be used for 24hrs. When zi finally got to paying again I was told they did not have a vehicle for a one way trip. In the end they upgraded my mid-size car to an Nissan SUV. Which was not a huge deal for me. The gas is really the only downfall on a bigger vehicle and there's not a huge difference in the mpg from one to the other. All in all I was able to do what I needed to do, but not without an hour or so of stress.

Don’t go here unless you take photos of the vehicle b4 you drop it off because they will charge you for things that are not true. I take pride in taking care of rentals and yet was charged for it having to be detailed because it was too dirty. My word against theirs and I loose. Will NEVER rent from them again!!
