Went out of my way to go here, and it was a big waste of time. Store is barren. Owner wouldn't answer my basic RC questions because I didn't buy the car at his store. I was shocked. He kept interrupting and making assumptions. He was rude, angry and bitter. I was going to buy some accessories and another RC car but I just left. If you need more proof, just look at how he responds to negative reviews. Very unprofessional. No wonder this Hickory location is shutting down. I visited another HobbyTown location and the staff was kind, professional and very helpful. I ended up chatting with them for an hour. They helped me with my RC questions and I bought another car from them. Please avoid the Hickory store.

Very friendly and helpful. Been in multiple times with questions around models, paints, and glues, and they have been very helpful and steered me in the right direction. Advice and purchases have worked out well. Highly recommend.

This place used to have a whole lot more different parts and accessories for rc cars and they used to have variety of cars and not long ago I went there again and they had half of the store cleared out its like walking into a store that would have less things to provide and wasting your time compared to other hobby towns that I been to that have more items to provide that you most likely need and not be told that they would have to order the parts you need and let you know when they will arrive when you can order the parts yourself and wait for it instead of waiting weeks

If I could give less than one star I would horrible customer service owner and his son are extremely rude to customers . I will not be going back and do not recommend this establishment to anyone.

Best in the broader Hickory area.
It's always important to by locally if you can, and they can always order something specific if you need it.

Great hobby shop. Good variety with plenty of choices. Over the years I purchased many RC vehicles and other items. No complaints on staff, always helpful and nice. Highly recommended.....
