I shop here often, only because of the convenience. There are a handful of nice people that work here and the others should be locked up in a zoo! i have had the worse service at the hot bar/deli. This woman with short gray hair is always rude and just can't help herself to be a bitter person. I go for the egg rolls and most staff know I order a good bit. Most are extremely nice and have them waiting for me:) This week i had the privilege to run into her again and had to ask, "Do you guys have any egg rolls made up?" She said, "In 15 min!" I asked, ''Oh I thought it only took 6 mins to fry?" She stammered and peeked around the corner murmuring something to her colleague looking back at me. The colleague whispered her lips to me saying, "I'll get them." Within minutes the colleague brought them over to me and said, "Im sorry." This older women with gray hair once told me that she hated dealing with rude people after I had walked up on a person that she was treating the same way. She is bitter period! Im sorry she hates her job or needs to work because she really doesn't need to deal with the public in her condition. She acts mad at the world kinda people. The second encounter was a cashier hit the wrong key voiding out my entire transaction and someone she called someone in customer service that made me go into the back of the line of another lane stating it was the only one that excepted checks. I was livid!!! Im not talking about a few items here, Im referring to a weeks buggy full at Christmas time. I waited for a few days before I decided to drive back to speak to the manager here. She explained that it was not how they conducted business and that she would have a word with whoever it was and reach back out to me. That never happened. The third incident was me asking for assistance with a female team member to get something off the top shelf. She asked, "What?". I answered, "Treats". She asked again, "What??" I say, "Treats!" She asked a 3rd time, "A Tree???" I exclaimed, "Treats!!! Dog treats, dog treats!!!" I mean I was in the dog treat isle and thought maybe she just couldn't understand my English. There were no trees on this isle. She said, "Wow....yeah right, I will be back". I didn't wait, I knew she wouldn't return because of the way she was avoiding me. And Im noticing that most staff shopping for pick-up orders act like you're in their way. They don't seem to get that they represent Walmart while on company property and clocked in, right, wouldn't you think? So Why do I keep going back. I pass a dozen of Clean, organized grocery stores along my route??? One day, I wont! And Ive made my mind that if the gray haired prude is working the hot bar, I just wont buy, I'll pass and have myself a good day. There are employees here at this Hwy 70 Supercenter Walmart that need to get a major training session on Customer Service Satisfaction or find something they will be much happier doing At another establishment. Since Covid things have changed, employees don't won't to work, employers can't find good help and people could care less about their fellow man or woman. Its a tell tell at this location.

This place is probably the worst Walmart I have ever been to. one half of the self checkouts were open. And not to mention a worker named Stephanie was very rude and smarted off to my wife when she asked a simple question.. Welcome To The Ghetto Walmart of Hickory Nc..# WorstEver Will Not Be Back.#NuttlessMonkeyCouldDoBetter!!!

Waited 30-45 minutes for somebody to come help us grab a furniture that was too big and heavy for us to carry. Had an employee at the tech center call over the speakers 3 separate times and nobody ever came. :(

I think it's a great superstore, you can find all that you need, clean, staff is polite and helpful. Prices affordable as well, so highly recommended!

First of all, how in tarnation does a Walmart not have fans. My bedroom is like a sauna and all I needed was a fan so I thought, "I'll go get one from a Supercenter-- where they have everything." HA HA HA. Was I wrong or what. No fans. That's the review. Not one fan.

If you want to get pictures printed DO NOT come to Walmart. Office Depot makes it easy

I live in Hickory and have had to go to Walmart a number of times for things I couldn't get elsewhere. I had trouble locating an item and asked a clerk for help. He said he couldn't help me because he was on his break! Another time I informed a lady about a spill on the floor that needed to be cleaned up. She said "That's not my department!" So yes I agree with all the others who say the staff are rude and very unhelpful. Walmart needs some serious competition. They deserve to go bust.

As far as Wal-Mart Stores Go this is definitely the worst Supercenter I've ever been to! Overcrowded beyond belief and the staff is clueless and rude. Everything feels so claustrophobic and messy, daytime is so uncomfortable and nighttime vibe feels like your in a Fast in the Furious movie! There are people just loitering and revving cars and teenagers being disturbing. This place needs better management, avoid at all costs! Just get a membership to the Sam's Club right next to it. The road dividing the two establishments is like a portal to a different dimension into a less irritating, aggravating environment.

Now retired, I appreciate Walmart's pricing and convenience. I agree with some of the complaints but many are against the corporate structure of the business and the way it treats the employees. From a consumer standpoint, I know the right time to shop - midday - and the stores are set up the same - so it does not matter which one I go to - and the prices can't be beat. I particularly like their meat department. My local Food Lion has the worst beef and Walmart has the best. Their return policy is lenient and fair, and frankly I have found the employees at both the one in Hickory and the one in Morganton to be knowledgeable and helpful. Maybe I'm friendly to them, and they in turn go out of their way to help me. Managers seem ready to assist as well. Anyhow, what I really like about Walmart is the new delivery system. I have an account. I fill my cart throughout the week and when I reach $35, and it's usually more, I push Paypal and Voila! In two days my items are on my porch. For cosmetics, like Loreal mascara, which is ALWAYS sold out of Carbon Black, this is the solution. For the tea I like and breakfast biscuits, I can't reach them on the top shelf, so this solves that problem too. I realize I sound like a commercial, or someone who is hired to promote Walmart on Yelp, but I assure you I am not. I just noticed that people will take the time to write complaints, but few people will take the time to compliment what a store is doing right. I recently convinced my husband that Walmart is a store that saves us money and is now incredibly convenient, so I thought I might share my view with you.

Night review - the parking lot turns into a race track for anyone with a loud pick up truck, motorcycle or car. Tons of kids hanging out all over the lot and security does nothing. Doesn't feel safe at all.

Watched a clerk check out a poor lady in a wheelchair and not even help by putting her bags in her cart!! Come on WM!!! Teach your staff some customer service!! I went out of my line and assisted the poor lady with her bags. The clerk just stood there with a dumb look on her face. Are they not allowed to assist???

I usually avoid going to Wal-Mart at all costs, but I have found a few things to comment about, that maybe beyond a typical commentary. One: I have discovered, quite by accident, that if I stop-by wearing my really hole-y jeans, because it's convenient, because I was shopping at Lowe's Home Improvement next door, because I was working on a home project... I am robustly greeted at the door. I guess I fit in. Two: Recently Wal-Mart added a video to the self-checkout display, that shows candy bars, floating and flashing in a circle, and it's accompanied by musical tones that resemble LasVegas slot machines. I suppose they are trying to entice simple minds that buying candy is a mindless and fun thing to do. Buyer Beware ;-) That last one is like a nail in Wal-Mart's coffin. How dare they!
