Horrible service. I called at 11:54 am on Monday to schedule an appointment for my cat for Thursday this week. I take off work so I can get him seen by a vet only to arrive to a dry unfriendly white woman working the counter. I give her my information and let her know I have an appointment at 9 for my cat. She starts talking to someone else there and eventually lets me know they have nothing scheduled for me and I probably had an appointment at the vet on skeet club. I asked if they had any available appointments for later and without even checking she says no. Something told me to check my call log and I’m glad I did. I dialed the number I called on Monday when I scheduled the appointment and wouldn’t you know who answered. This same woman that just told me they had no record of the appointment. She then goes on to put me on hold and eventually miraculously comes back with a 3:45 appointment for that same day even though 3 minutes prior they had no appointments for the rest of the day. If there’s one thing I hate it’s messy businesses with rude employees that can’t do the bare minimum requirements of their job. I was on the fence about even booking with them in the first place due to the 4.2 star rating and I wish I had listened to my gut instead of having my time wasted by these people. I took the 3:45 appointment initially but the more I thought about it the more I refuse to give this business a single cent of my money ever. I’d much rather drive to Greensboro and deal with professionals.

I took my female Rottweiler, Sugar, in to see Dr. Haggerty on March 17th. He was so kind, compassionate, spent a great deal of his time just talking to me about supplements and arthritis that she has. We also talked about football and hockey :) Dr. Haggerty was so kind, authentic and legitimately cares for his dog/cat patients. His staff is also wonderful!!!I moved here from Minneapolis, MN and I'm SO happy I found this vet clinic!!! The prices are amazingly affordable. I had all her vaccinations updated, her heartworm test and got all the meds she needs. Dr. Haggerty spent time loving up on Sugar and was just so kind! We have most definitely found our vet!!!! Thank you Doc and staff, for being so awesome with not only Sugar but me as well!!! See you in a few months for more flea/tick meds ;) Thank you!!!

Deep River Veterinary Hospital is a wonderful place. Dr Hagerty and his staff genuinely care for every animal they treat. They're professional and very kind. I'm especially impressed with Dr Hagerty's practical, no nonsense way of thinking. He doesn't over prescribe treatment and you can trust that every decision he makes is in the best interest of your pet.

It’s been over a year since I saw this vet. It’s taken me this long to review because I didn’t want to start any issues, but I was needing to bring my pet in and just checked updated reviews and feelCompelled to tell my experience.I brought my dog, dozer, in when he was very sick. He was 14 years old… I had myBeloved companion since he was 7 weeks. He experienced life with me. Dozer was beyond helping.. he was an English bulldog mix and already lived beyond his expected years. Ultimately I had to put him down the day I brought him in… but the issue was the treatment I received by the vet.Dozer lost 15lbs in a week. He began losing weight earlier than month and not really eating, so I made homemade food with rice a rotisserie chicken. He ate it immediately in seconds. Was I avoidIng the inevitable? Yes. It was clear his age was really getting to him… but the thought of having to say goodbye terrified me; and that was selfish. When the vet tech placed dozer on the table, he was so skinny.. he began to relieve himself uncontrollably. The treatment I received was weighted down in such judgement and coldness, it took me aback. I broke down… I’m talking sobbing until I was gagging typeOf breaking down. The vet was so cold and I even told him that. I told him he is treating me as if I neglected my dog.. as if I did this.. through sobbing uncontrollably. Even as I said this the vet tech started nodding her head in what seemed like her agreeing with me.After that he tried to act cold more, by saying “I never said that, did I?” And again I sobbed and said “it’s how you are treating me. How you are treating dozer. It’s what you are conveying to me with your eye rolls and cold words”. Again.. I was sobbing horribly throughout this entire time.He then became very compassionate and even had tears in his eyes. I think he made a judgment call and was very wrong; and could clearly see this dog was my life. I’m a single mom to 4 kids.. I didn’t have the money to pour into tests and i was sobbing to him saying i feel like I’m killing my dog. That it was all my fault (god I’m crying now). His words to me were “you could have all the money in the world and I still don’t think it will do any good here. He is a bulldog.. he’s lived a very longLife. The best thing you could do for him is give him peace”; with very noticeable tears in his eyes.So while at first I was devastated by the treatment I received… because I truly believe he was blaming me at first.. he became very compassionate.I don’t know this vet personally. I’m not a family member or employee… I just know he must see some horrible situations and conditions that animals are kept in and I can only imagine the toll it would take on any human being. I left without my beloved best friend that day.. but I did leave with gratitude towards that vet and his employees. We all make mistakes and bad judgement calls; but he truly did make it right and I base my opinions on the change I see in people. I now have dozer with me everyday in a beautiful wood box I got with the cremation… I love that dog so much and miss him horribly and still blame myself; but I try to remember those kind words.

If I could leave zero stars I would. Avoid this place if you can. It’s been a year since my experience there and it still bothers me! The vet is so aggressive and rude and physically touched me inappropriately. I will never forget how horribly I was treated here. Westchester is my go to now.I love that you admitted to remembering me and that you also admit to being a witness that he put his hands on me without my permission. He never once explained or asked me anything and either way incase you weren't aware it's NEVER ok to put your hands on people PERIOD. I love how you say my review is fictitious but then resume to confirm that you remember me and the exact incident I am referring to (ALMOST A YEAR AGO). I have no reason to lie I gain nothing from sparing others the harassment I received. The confirmation of assault in your response is priceless.

Reading the reviews to see what everyone else is also experiencing. Had very terrible experience here with my pet. This place is not worth the time I will be going somewhere else. Also putting your own staffs reviews on here is shameful.

The only reason I can accept giving this place 1 star is because they fit me in last minute which was amazing and did treat my dog. However the treatment we both received was so rude and aggressive that I am honestly afraid to ever go back here. I have a large Pitt who does suffer from anxiety so I responsibly use muzzles during vet visits. I also bring treats to try and distract her. While waving a treat near her because she was fussy the vet literally smacks my hand away and says don’t put your hand near her. For 1 she has a muzzle and cannot physically bite me and for 2 use your words DONT EVER put your hands on a young woman especially aggressively at that. Who do you think you are!? He then becomes annoyed with the fact that she’s fussy and his phone is ringing so he then throws the stethoscopes down on the counter sucks his teeth and storms out with an attitude. You may not like my dog or her behavior but this is the most unprofessional treatment I have ever received. Needless to say I canceled my next appointment and made sure to let them know I didn’t appreciate being touched like that and that I don’t feel comfortable coming back there. Both receptionist were very nice but the old timer clearly hates his job!

Dr Haggerty and the staff are all very respectful and caring. Lucy, my “foster failure” girl loves visiting Deep River and greetings by Dr. Haggerty. You know you are getting sensible and practical care by someone with a heart for the animals and sage advice for the anxious humans. Thank you Stephanie, Crystal and Dr Haggerty for all your patience and care!
