Attempted to call business multiple times to get an update on a vehicle for a buddy. No answer. He also did not hear anything about a vehicle he dropped off last week. Not sure how a business doesn’t pick up the phone.

I chose this shop to replace my car's window relay because of the 5 star review on Google. On the phone Josh was very friendly and helpful, however when I arrived Greg Newton (owner/owners Son) was very rude and unprofessional. My car was supposed to be fixed the next day but I heard nothing, my calls were not answered or returned. Then on the third day I received a text from Greg at 2 pm saying my car would be done by 5:30 and he would call me at 4:30. I texted and called from 4:30 to after 5 pm, with no answer. When I arrived around 5:30 my car was "done" but they could not find my keys and my car was blocked into the backlot. They asked that I come another day to get it. The next 24 hrs no one answered my calls or texts again. When we showed up for the second time (day 4) I was told that Greg Newton had misplaced my keys and was arrested. I brought my spare key to retrieve my vehicle this time and I realized my A/C and radio were on, but I had shut them off at drop-off. I looked at my mileage picture from the day I dropped it off and 27 miles had been added to my vehicle and 1/4 tank of gas was missing. THEN when I got home I found a paring knife and long-neck lighter in my glove compartment! I decided to look up the arrest report for Greg Newton and it was from 8/12/23 where he had a hit and run property damage, DWIR after impaired revocation notice, and failing to maintain lane control. This means he drove my car WITHOUT a license! I am absolutely furious!

They were extremely short staffed for the amount of work they had I guess. Very hard to get a return call through the process but definitely it was because of being busy. Now the actual work and diagnosis was not efficient. No problem there.

I'm quite disappointed to be writing this. We just moved to High Point, and were hopeful to find a local shop we could trust. Came to Newton's because of the reviews. I sat with them while my car was getting worked on. I was a bit uncomfortable with them talking about bankruptcy while I was in their presence, but did my best to ignore, and not eavesdrop. They replaced a battery on my Honda CR-V, and asked me to return the next day for the tires. In replacing the battery, the Honda computer systems did not come back online. They told me they tried to fix them, but could not, and that it would be no problem for the dealership to do so. This knocked out everything from lane assist to cruise control. The next day a sensor went off 1 minute from leaving them- the technician had not filled the tires back up after putting them on. Then I get a text from them asking if a headlamp was in my car. Finally my "no problem" reset to the computer systems cost an additional $114 at the Honda dealership. Please be aware of this potential, if you are considering letting them change your battery. When I texted to let them know this had happened, their response was offensive to the point that I felt compelled to let others know of their customer service.

I’ve been a loyal customer for many years, and all I can say is I’m very disappointed with these folks! They fixed the problem, but the aftermath was terrible! Grease/oil on center console. Grease/oil on passenger seat. Grease/oil all over the sides of the vehicle that I had to clean up. A pair of $400 sunglasses GONE! Unacceptable to say the least! Let me stress this, I think highly of the owners, Jerry, and Greg but unfortunately they’ve lost our business due to not staying in touch while investigating the sunglasses disappearance.Service: General repairs & maintenance

They fixed my truck’s exhaust leak and it sounds great again. They are really nice and friendly people. There prices are really good. Will use them again.

I was under the impression that this being a small family owned business that is was a reputable company but I was terribly wrong, although the warranty approved everything asked they still proceeded to charge me 3000 above what the warranty which was a red flag for me, I would not recommend this company to fix anything unless you want to be overcharged

I recently made a review for this company, I still stand with my original perception and strongly urge you to you a different mechanic, but the pressure from the review actually made Greg return the parts our warranty company previously sent to his shop so way to go Greg Newton for your judgement call. I still think you should have maintained a professional standpoint and returned the parts before a bad review like this forced you to. Again, this shop is a nightmare and in my personal opinion will continue to go downhill as long as Greg is in control of customer relations!

I honestly wish there was a way that I could give a negative 3 or more stars for this sorry company. This raggedy, dirty, junk infested, unreliable, untrustworthy, disrespectful, racially motivated, distasteful, non repairing, lost in the shuffle sorry excuse for a car repair shop needs to be closed down. After having a vehicle sit here for a year only to not be repaired properly is insane! Every time we called, the so-called owner had an excuse, or one of his disrespectful goons to respond in an unprofessional manner. Only to keep calling back weeks at a time to never receive a decent response, or an answer in general. While on their lot my vehicles catalytic converter was stolen and they took 5 months to order that part and put it back on, and THAT wasn't even the initial problem. But want to charge a storage fee? As a business owner myself, I tried to understand the nature of what was happening with the business when we did get a halfway decent response 4 months ago. I've exercised plenty of patience only to be bullied within the last few days with $100 lien to pick up my vehicle that is still not repaired or fixed as it was supposed to be initially when dropped off a year ago. Not to mention to be talked to nasty and real disrespectful like today. Today was so distasteful when trying to come to some understanding with the office. I will NEVER use or recommend this company again nor will I ever send any business their way. And will do everything possible to make sure the city knows, this is NOT THE PLACE TO GO for car repairs. If you value your car, if you value respect and IF you want your car repaired, DO NOT GO TO NEWTONS!

5 Stars! - Excellent place and service, professional, courteous, and knowledgeable.I had car trouble on I-85 headed to Charlotte and had to pull off on exit 108. I called for a tow and also called Newton's to let then know I needed help. They were polite on the phone and flexible with figuring out if they could resolve my situation. Even though I didn't have an appointment they looked at the car and fortunately it was repairable that day. They were knowledgeable, explained things clearly, and more importantly were highly professional from the care at the front desk to the conversations with the specialists. The cost of the repair was fair when they could easily have taken advantage of it. They treated me like a long time customer and within a few hours I was back on the road. I can't thank Newton's enough and the team for their great service!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Used Newton about a year ago and they were fantastic!Fast forward to this year and I still haven't been able to talk to anyone or get a call back. I guess they are that busy but customer service doesn't seem the same. I've emailed, called and texted just for reference ??♀️.

Newton has my car since Aug 2022 and has neglected to communicate with my extended warranty company to get the issue fixed. You can never get anyone on the phone and when you do everyone is confused. They expect the customers to have sympathy for the company but they lack the sympathy for how the customers are going and have to deal with out having their vehicle at hand. The new service manager Chris is extremely rude and lacks understanding of situations that may have occurred before he even arrive to work at the company he definitely is not a good addition to the Newton family. Every time that I call or try to get someone on the line theyhave 1000 excuses as to why they have not reached out to me nor began the service or labor on my vehicle. I understand that businesses have issues but this is ridiculous and they are not trying to rectify the situation in any type of speedy manner. Parts have been stolen off of my car Sis has been on their property. I am completely over this situation. If the company does not have things in order maybe they should close while they figure things out

I decided to give Newton's a try they're really good they got my car in the shop, did diagnostic, and told me the problem gave me an estimate on the repair. Christian and Greg have excellent customer service for the technician Department. I highly recommend them.
