How bad is the service at this Food Lion location? I called for 20 minutes trying to speak to the manager. The phone rang repeatedly until an automated voice told me that all associates were busy. The top of the voice message says "customer service is our top priority." I'm going to call BS on that. There was one register open when I shop there with five people with full carts in a line. Other associates were working hard checking in vendors and emptying trash. The manager and employees at this location need to understand that neither vendors nor garbage service pay their bills. When you have live real people in front of you, they are your priority. Otherwise, change your voicemail message to say that "customers are our greatest inconvenience."

I cannot say whether it is that I have known some great supermarket chains in my life. Growing up in New Jersey we had Shop-Rite and now that I live in Florida, we have Publix, both brands are a testament to what a supermarket could and should be, but I found Food Lion to be a substandard experience all around.
