Delightful little bookshop. They have sections for kids, local subjects and authors, and my favorite was a $5 pre-loved book section. I bought a couple of great $5 hardcovers.

What a fantastically curated indie bookshop! We stopped in Hillsborough for a lunch break on a long road trip and walked from the river park to Purple Crow Books. What a wonderful surprise! Beautiful space, great local authors selection, and a wonderful selection of books on display.

We went in today and the attendant was barely wearing a mask (under her nose). As we went to check out she took a phone call and removed her mask entirely and left me and my son to stand there in our masks. Eventually we went outside to wait in the rain and she still remained on the phone with no mask. It’s a pandemic! My 9 year old is wearing a mask! Totally unacceptable, and disappointing experience. We won’t be back.

Very frustrating experience in this store today. My 9 year old son and I went in to browse and the attendant was only sort of wearing her mask (under her nose) and as we were ready to check out she took off her mask to talk on the phone leaving us standing there while she talked with no mask. There's a pandemic! My kid is wearing a mask... we went outside to wait in the rain and she still sat there talking while we stood outside and waiting. We left, but it was very disappointing and we won't be back.

It is nice to find an old fashion bookstore. I really enjoyed looking at their assortment. They have many children's books (which always make a great gift in today's computer game age). But more importantly they carry all of the local Hillsborough authors, and there are many of them.

This bookstore is wonderful. Sharon (the owner) has created a lovely independent bookstore experience. I can always find a literary adventure here and if I have questions the friendly staff is always ready to help. There is a very nice section of books by southern authors (several live in Hillsborough). I highly recommend this charming spot.
