This quaint little almost hidden away eatery has been delicious and consistent for all it's years, more than 25 I think! Mandatory if you love Hillsborough.

A real disappointment. To start with, it was a Monday at lunch, about 11:30 or so and we were greeted with a frown and, 'Do you have a reservation?' When we said, 'No, we don't' she responded with a look of exasperation. Good morning to you, too, Sunshine. (We were promptly sat among the empty tables). Anyway, the food was a disappointment. My blue burger was charred black on about half of the bottom. I had to cut it off to eat the burger. My husband's $12 blt had two thin strips of bacon on it and the saddest amount of tomato and lettuce to match. We're moving to the area and although the place is cute, we are certain we won't come back here.

It is okay. Not what they advertise. Good 3rd option. Try it and see how you like service.

We met family for lunch. We were seated quickly though it was fairly busy. The atmosphere is quaint and inviting. The food was not great. I had a BLT sandwich ... consisting of 2 thin slices of tomatoes, 2 thin pieces of bacon, a slice of cheese, and a single piece of lettuce on toasted white bread. It was dry and tasteless. Pitiful for a $12 sandwich. My wife had a burger which she ordered as medium well. The meat was black on one side. BURNED!. Oh, and no lettuce or tomato ( an extra charge for those!). My sister had the chowder was way too salty. It was worse than Waffle House but certainly more expensive. We won't be returning.

I came here with a friend for a quick lunch! The restaurant is located upstairs and has a lovely view toward the street. Very relaxing with lots of art on the wall with background jazz music. I got the Saratoga Burger to try and my friend got the fried oyster salad special. The burger was cooked well but I wished the scallop was spread out differently so I could taste it in every bite. The fried oyster salad didn't seem to have many fried oysters but the salad was very fresh and crispy. Service was fast and friendly so I would definitely come again!

We both got the burger topped with scallops. Just amazing, incredible! Salad was great. Really fresh ingredients! We only visit the area once a year, but this is our #1 stop when we do.

Great! Feels like old North Carolina. Very fresh food. White tablecloth and a local crowd, but not formal. Fantastic little biscuits

The ambiance is very nice. The clientele was upscale. The art on the walls was for sale. Our server was very attentive and pleasant. The food came came to the table In a few minutes after we ordered. I had the seafood bisque and the salmon. My wife had a burger. Everything was very well prepared and tasty. The price was reasonable.

I ordered the Halibut that was featured. I'm not sure why because I'm not a big fan of fish. It was DELICIOUS! It had some sort of bread crumb mix with roasted tomatoes. I can't even describe it. I don't have a sophisticated palate, but the blend of flavors was magic. The fish was flaky and cooked perfectly. They also had Mahi which I will be trying next!

This is my favorite restaurant in Hillsborough. You are definitely going to want a reservation as they always get seated first. My favorite dish is the honey almond salmon. I’ve had the steak a couple of times and I found it to be a little bland but I’m not going to fault them for that. It is really just my preference. There was nothing actually wrong with it. Their salad is supreme and the scone type bread you get is really good.

Draws an older crowd. Delicious fresh fish though. Very cold in the dining room.

Service was great. French onion soup was good. Had the grouper special. Fish was cooked well but unseasoned. I think it was supposed to have some theme or flavor but couldn’t taste it. Livened up quite a bit with a bit of added salt. Salad was basic and could have a bit more to it, some more veg or something with crunch.

Horrible parking on Churton, PERIOD! Neither cud I park behind buildings or side streets. Finally got a spot on the street. I brought my 87 year sis for her birthday. First and last time. No handicap provisions whatsoever and many stairs up to 2nd level restaurant. Obviously grandfathered in...No ramps. I almost left then. I had honey smoked salmon, passable, small portion, maybe 4 oz, and salad served on the plate was small. At $16 both shd've been separate and larger. Sis had mussels cheeseburger.... nightmare. Served on regular, bun too small for all of that. I asked them to cut in half but brought to her to cut. I tried but fell apart and soggy bottom due to mussels...not a way to put seafood on a burger. Upon asking them to serve open face, they brought cheeseburger (no mussels upon my request) meat on 1 half and zero on the other. No lettuce, tomato, onion....had to ask for it. In the meantime, I'm done way b4 hers was edible. LSS, quality and bang for the buck, can't compare w.The Longhorn. Lunch in Hillsboro is not worth the hassle especially with a handicap person who has trouble walking.... neither can those streets/restaurants accommodate a walker or wheelchair that I can see. Attention City Planner: Do something! I won't b back, at least not with sis and definitely not Saratoga.
