We don't live in Hillsborough. Stopped by on our way somewhere else to pick up a few things. Aisles seemed well stocked. They had what we were looking for. The store was clean. Visited restrooms and they were also clean. Our cashier was efficient and friendly. No complaints from us.

Worst customer service! The website stated that this store had an item I wanted. Drove to this location for the item and was told that they did not actually have it, but the Durham location did, per their computer...I asked if they could call and check to make sure they actually had this item and was told "I can give you the phone number and you could call." I have a cell phone and of course I can call...it's called "customer service". Went to Lowe's and had people checking all over the store until they found item. Won't be going back.

I purchased $2000 of lumber, doors and windows on 4 flat carts. I was ready to go at 7pm. It took another 45 minutes to get me checked out, loaded and the Home Depot Rental truck cleaned up. The bed was covered in black wet hardwood mulch that smelled like feces. A really honest employee also pointed out that the tail pipe was mangled and bent. So I took a photo of it after I got loaded and was ready to leave. Now it is 7:48pm. I live 2 miles away but no way am I getting this delivered and back in 12 minutes. After 4 hours in this store I am committed to do this. I call the store back just as I'm pulling in my driveway before they close. I let them know I am bringing the truck back as soon as I am unloaded. The truck is back in the parking lot at 8:52PM. There are still employees at the store but I am not allowed to drop the keys off. So I park the truck at the store and leave in my car to come back the next morning. I am greeted the next morning with a $141.26 rental bill.... for a $19.95 truck rental!!! To rub more salt in the wound they say they aren't charging me for the bent tailpipe... you know... the one I didn't bend. I've had at least half dozen other run ins with this store. This time I am DONE. I will never set foot in the Hillsborough Home Depot again. I will drive a little further to their competitors from now on. UPDATE: Corporate Home Depot just sent me $141.00 to cover the cost of the rental. This speaks volumes about the Company in general. My local store... not so much.

I drove to this location, looked at a pallet of pavers, set up delivery of the pallet of pavers and some other items for my new house because they had sent a discount card to my new address. A week later, the night before the delivery, I got a call telling me they must have opened the crate and sold the pavers I bought because they did not have them now. They would credit what I paid, but my discount was burned and I was out of luck. That level of no customer service says that ANY other source of building materials will be better for a purchase unless they sell the things you have bought and paid for to someone else too.

Since the pandemic started, I do curbside pickup whenever it's available. Home Depot in Hillsborough offers curbside pickup but not really. At best it's hit or miss. I do not know if it's poor management or poorly trained employees. I ordered and pay for online furnace filters. Home Depot sent me a text when the order was ready for pickup. I arrived at Home Depot and followed instructions about what parking space I was in and color and make of car. I waited 25 minutes. Called the store and computer answered. I ask to speak to a manager. Phone rang for a long time then cut off. I waited another 5 minutes and called again. Same results. I put on my mask and went inside. Employees at customer service desk were not busy and just standing around. In hindsight I should have went back home and cancelled the order. I have done curbside pick at Home Depot four times. Two times only had to wait 15 minutes. Other two times it's been over 30 minutes. I did a grocery pickup at Walmart today and my wait was less than a minute. Why is Home Depot so slack? I later called the manager and he was polite and said he would look into it. I live within walking distance of Home Depot but in the future I'll drive to Lowes. Home Depot has lost a steady customer forever.

I have my first home, that came with no blinds, I was urged to go to Home Depot in Hillsborough, and "they are great". No! i'm never going to buy anything from them ever again. A first time condo owner they highly pushed Home Depot for great quality and fast service. That was the worst decision, and most deceptive business practices, the lady I Marsha B, who I did whole order with called for my payment, she made a huge mistake, tried to pull a cordless $$$ order while on computer looking at my order, I corrected her, and reminded her i'm on a very tight budget, trying to up the sales i'm sure. They were delivered to my place and had to put in garage. The company they use was first told it was called 'Blinds by Faith?' something similar, they were supposed to call to set up installation date, never did, so I drove to store 3 times and called too to figure out why my 2 grand blinds were still sitting in garage for 3+ weeks, no calls, she had a hard time finding order and confirmed that the company had my info up to date, and didn't know what was wrong. I finally got their # and on a Monday waited all day until I had to call the company, a different installation company ' Spring Windows Fashion' It took another week to get fastest installation, no apologies from company. A guy came installed them, didn't show me a box of plastic tools he emptied on my table, child safety cord wraps, I figured he already put in. Nobody at HD warned me about how filthy the blinds could be, and filthy doesn't do the plastic coating of insanely hard to clean, used new static glove, my Dyson vacuum that was to powerful and sucking up the fabric. My cat has lung disease and is coughing since the installation, my allergies are bad too! Marsha kept saying she will discuss a good discount that she seemed so concerned about and upset with my wait, but only after installation, so what? cancel a 2 grand job or just trust them. I went back and showed them videos and photos of the blinds I already tried to clean, a manager Sonya T came and 4 employees couldn't tell me what these plastic parts were for, and looked pretty disappointed at the filth. It took over an hour to get this explained, Sonya also said she would check into the fact that a reimbursement of something would be taken into serious consideration, due to hours and hours of my cleaning of substantial finance. She said she would call the next day with a number, I got an email. A 59$ late installation refund, I thought it was a sick joke, and in an email? So they sell dirty blinds, don't follow up with customers who buy huge projects, buy lots of things from this chain store and have no professionalism or honesty. Don't buy blinds or anything from this store, and Marsha and Sonya, learn your job, be honest and actually call a customer. Never going back again and don't trust them.

Great workers in this store and great for Hillsborough. Attempted to order a door installation and was told they contract this work out. The contractor said it would take three weeks before he could even measure for the door. After three weeks, he showed up to the house out of the blue without calling, and then left a message saying we had to reschedule. I talked to an employee in the store and they said they have been trying to get rid of these guys for a long time because they are terrible. Management, please listen to your workers.

I like the people at this store but, they need some type of policy or procedure to follow when it comes to hurricanes and emergencies. I wanted to purchase a generator and they told me I had to put my name on the list. I put my name on the list and I was number 22. I checked back several times via phone calls and stopping by the store. They indicated I would be called when the generators were in. About 30 hours later, I received a phone call that said if i wanted a generator I needed to hurry up and get to the store because generators are there and it's first come first served. Of what value was the waiting list?? Needless to say I'm very disappointed in how this whole process was handled! And i'm still without a generator!!
