This concept is so perfect, but the actual experience here is way below what it's made out to be on the website. I'm not saying to avoid this place; but I'm saying to just lower your expectations a lot if you go. Great: Scenery, location, surroundings, vibe once you get to your tub area. Good enough: changing area/bathrooms, some staff were ok, some don't belong in a job interacting with people. Bad: water temp is WAY too low! It's barely warm, not even close to being hot. The cool little outdoor firepit bowl stopped working after 4 minutes. Place getting a little run down, needs some sprucing up. This place has so much potential, it seems just like the place is on autopilot and doesn't realize the effort isn't going in to make this place special anymore. My friends might give this place 1 more chance, but I won't unless they have a great time if they ever go back.

My wife and I spent a wonderful relaxing afternoon soaking in the healing therapeutic waters. The water makes your skin feel very soft and it's very relaxing and it's not so hot you can't enjoy a good soak. It's a very relaxing way to spend an hour or two.

This was our 3rd time visiting the hot tub spa. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Beautiful views of the river while soaking in the tub. However, we were underwhelmed with the tubs. They are starting to show their age. Jets not working well (I know, the sign clearly says jets may not work). Water warm, but not hot. And if it is the least bit cold and windy, there is no way to block the wind or shelter. (We have been to other outdoor spas that have winterized pavilions with plexiglass or a curtain to block the wind.) The gas fire pit provides some heat, but if it's windy, you have to stand right over top to feel it. We booked over the valentine's day week (2/12) and they called us a few days in advance offering a dozen of roses and box of chocolates for $50. The roses were nice, but i would have much preferred a small box of local artisian chocolate instead of the Russell Stover heart boxed chocolate. This went right in the garbage can. The friendly staff is all we were impressed with. We chose the premium mineral bath, before 6:00 p.m., for 90 minutes = $120.

Drove from VA to Hot Springs, NC for its famous mineral bath. We were in a remote leanto/shed surrounding the mineral tub facing the river. There was no privacy while we were changing our clothes. While we were asked if we wanted to change our clothes in the main building where we checked in, we had no idea our shed/tub was going to be 150 meters from the parking lot. The air tempature was 37 degrees and the tub tempature was maybe 100 degrees. It would be much better to have the tub closer to 105. If business is about meeting and exceeding expectations, it is important to let customers know what they will be receiving when they purchase a product.

I planned a special valentine's weekend get-away with my wife at this resort well in advance. Sadly my wife and I contracted covid and had to quarantine. I called to cancel and get a refund a full 5 days before our trip and was told that for no reason do they ever give a refund. Not even for things outside your control, such as catching covid. The only thing they were willing to offer was to move the trip to another date. I don't know when we'll be feeling up for a road trip, and Valentine's Day will be long over by then. Quite an unreasonable policy. Guess I paid for a very expensive illness on top of my wife's disappointment.

Went for a soak in #5. Have been going for years and it is the best. Leaves you feeling good for days. Try it! We'll worth the price of admission!

We've been going to Hot Springs spa for 28 years and have seen it grow so much. The owners have done a great job growing with intention and making the spas even better!Noteworthy details: We get the more private spas when we go. We splurged and got one of their more expensive tubs for our anniversary with bathrobes and towels. It was well worth the price. The staff is always awesome and the grounds and tubs are well maintained and clean!
