Don't miss this little BBQ place tucked quietly beside the highway. GREAT ribs, brisket, BBQ sauce, sides! All self-serve (stand in line to order, pick it up, bus table), and it was totally worth all our effort! We each had enough for another meal. Extremely casual--perfect for this area with lots of hikers and outdoor interests.

Visiting Hot Springs for the weekend and stopped in for lunch. I was in the mood for something light, so I got the quinoa salad, which was prepackaged, so they gave me a bowl. It was my first time eating such a food, and I ate the whole container! My husband got the grilled cheese, which was scrumptious, and thick, hearty tomato soup. Good selection of interesting alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks. Grocery store has really interesting and rare products! We sat out front and watched the world go by. Highly enjoyed.

Nice cafe with quick service. We had lunch (my husband, I, and two children) and there was something for all of us on the menu. We would recommend if you are in the Hot Springs, NC area.Kid-friendliness: Menu has something for the kids!

A delicious place to eat with friendly hard-working staff, and the best part- super healthy options (!!!) which is hard to find outside of Asheville. I tweaked a gyro to use gluten free bread and it was mouth watering! I will definitely be back when in the area!Dietary restrictions: gluten free bread

Best lox and bagel prepared fresh by friendly staff. Drip coffee very good. There are shelves of provisions, hats and more. Also home to Fly Shop and Guide Service. Dogs are allowed in the patio where you can people watch.

So I called to ask and see what time they stopped serving brunch and when they picked up the phone before I could even ask some lady was very rude and said “WERE NOT TAKING ORDERS” then hung the phone up on me. She was very rude and unprofessional. If she can’t handle the heat of a busy day maybe the job isn’t for her. I’ve been here many many times I’ve had friends work here and I loved this place but I don’t believe I will be returning after this encounter. Very sad cause this was one of the only places to get brunch on a Sunday locally.

My wife and I visited Hot Springs for our anniversary. While we were in town we had coffee and breakfast with Kieth and both visits were exceptional. We wish we could have tried more of their food. We encourage you to visit his establishment when you’re in town.

We both had the crab cakes, we'd been eying crab cakes at other establishments during our travels...and we're so glad we did, they were absolutely delicious! Fun mix of quality dry grocery and in-house made frozen goods as well.

I did not try any of their freshly prepared dishes, that's for next time.I did however perise their variety of goods & WOW! From local made items to canned goods to frozen meats& scratch made prepared foods, they carry ALOT in a little space AND , they serve quite a variety of extremely well made dishes. Even the frozen dishes they create were a feast for the eyes. The Only reason I felt forced to ding them a HALF of a STAR, was due to (a) lack of pricing on a good deal of stock, I didn't enjoy asking & feeling as tho I pulled someone out from behind the counter(where they're working), to help me find a price. He was VERY kind about it, I just hate taking anyone away from their job. (b) I had to ask for a receipt, which as you might have guessed, I don't like having to ask, I feel it should be offered. Regardless I will be back to further investigate their stock& try some of their delicious looking dishes! I enjoyed my visit & do recommend this store/restaurant to anyone in the area. You'll be glad you popped in& will likely find an item you've been unable to find, right here in this lovely lil shoppe!

in a word - incredible. from the moment you walk in the door and smell what Chef Brita has cooking, you KNOW you’re in for a delightful and tastefully curated menu of delicious, healthy, and well-sourced options for a meal any time of the day. i’ve been here twice over the past three months and ordered the same dish: Greek Salad with their housemade crab cake. in the beautiful, small town of Hot Springs, it is not hard to find quality food, drinks, and hospitality, but the attention to detail—from VR’s food menu, beer/wine offerings, and grocery (wow!)—has been curated to both refined palettes and hiker hungers alike. my toque is off and sincere thanks to Chef Brit and the VR team/owners for putting together such a well-rounded establishment. VR is a MUST-stop/sit/sip/snack/savor location in town.

We were impressed by their selection of various organic goods and other items that are perfect for health conscious people on the go. The brunch menu is something not to be missed as well! Also, we enjoyed the outside dining, which includes seating along the main strip.
