Horrible experience. Rented a Uhaul truck online and had a order number. Truck was there when I arrived but I was told promptly that “you can’t have that truck, you can’t have that truck”. The customers who were there “first” did not have a reservation, but I did. The truck was given to them after I was told they had a reservation, but they did not!!! The male who was working with a female was extremely rude to her. He told her to “shut up”, “stop using your works”, “you screw everything up”, and “you mess stuff up”. While I was thinking a few of the same things, I never said it. That’s disrespectful and hateful. Never buy here. Smokey Mountain Furniture gets all of my business from now on. Truly a horrible experience!!!!!

Poor customer service. Called well over an hr before closing time to ask if they had a particular ornament in stock. Guy who answered was rude and said Hallmark person was dealing with another person , took my name and number, and said he’d tell him to call back. Never called back. Guy who answered acted as if I was wasting his time and probably never wrote anything down in the first place. Oh well. Could have had more business, but now I will make sure not to shop here.

Update. We drove from Virginia 5 yeas ago to buy a Steel frame recliner leather sofa. Tarheel price was almost a half than in Virginia. Our leather sofa is used heavily every single day. After 5 years we are still in love with it. The mechanism is smooth, quiet, a dream. Not a single stitch out, the leather still beautiful. I couldn't be happier. Best furniture purchase we have ever made. We had a great experience at Tarheel, the price and delivery, all was as promised. We highly recommend it.

The worst business I have ever dealt with in my 74 years. They sent us damaged furniture and took it back. They sent another load of more damaged furniture which we didn't accept. Of the 5 pieces we ordered we kept 3 pieces and sent back 2 But they charged me for the entire order on my credit card. After disputing it with Citi Bank for a year , I don't know why but they settled erroneously in their favor . So they screwed me out of over $2100.00 The owners and all of the employees of Tarheel Home Furnishings belong in jail .They are all scumbags. They will pay for it in the end.

We found our sofa for a great price at Tarheel Furniture. The customer service was wonderful from the beginning to the end. They are very knowledgeable about their products. Also the delivery people were excellent! We highly recommend them!!

The absolute worst in customer service, we ordered a sofa here, no problem at all. Checked on the delivery and they said, your sofa had been there it was currently in the warehouse. I went by and arranged for a delivery date of today, after 1100 am. The lady said my husband will be doing the delivery so he will call you regarding the details. Guess what no phone call, so my wife called the so called delivery person Mason twice left messages he didn't call back, she called

Terrible customer service ,,, we have purchased a few pieces their over the years and had a good experience but the last purchase a Flex steel sofa has been a nightmare this is the second Flex Steel in less than one year the first one fell apart and now the second one is doing the same thing.. we are both retired and no grandchildren to jump on our furniture.... The owner of Tarhell never return calls and is only concerned about the sale.... He stays at the beach most of the time and could care less about his business ... So be ware when u are looking for furniture at Tarhell Home Furnushing....

Do NOT buy anything from Tarheel Home Furnishing NOR a second name that they use, The Furniture Shoppe! Tommy & Elaine are the owners and are full of mistruth if you can even get them to communicate AFTER the sale. They are nice Southern people BEFORE the sale. I ordered a Flexsteel sectional with an ottoman and a Liberty white master bedroom 5 piece set. THIS STUFF WAS NOT CHEAP FURNITURE! EVERY piece was damaged and had grease smudges on them. The bedroom pieces all had chipped wood and chipped paint, the drawers did not close, the furniture actually had holes in the back panels. There was black smudges all over the white furniture. The sofa had black marks on it and wood damaged feet, along with severe creases and stretched upholstery. I can only assume that they buy seconds and pawn them off to suckers! You pay for the furniture when you order it and NO refunds are given. You just get stuck with what is delivered. They pass the buck to their delivery company D&D which is just as bad. Go buy from the consignment store where you will get better prices and better furniture. After the cost of the furniture and delivery there are NO savings especially when you get junk. I don't know how Tommy & Elaine can sleep at night. I could not treat people as they do. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM TARHEEL HOME FURNISHINGS. They need to go out of business!

Have bought many rooms of furniture from this store, over many years. Great prices, have always had wonderful customer service. I live in Iowa so understand that I need to have patience when it comes to delivery. Saving $ is more important

Most unprofessional business I've ever been to. They first changed their price suddenly on a piece we were looking at and then THEY made a mistake on the final sale and transaction. The mistake was there's but they insisted on calling and begging for the money they lost.. Because of their mistake. Never before have I ever heard of a business chasing a customer down because of a mess up on their end. They were not even professional about calling. They first tried bullying. Then guilt with a sob story that may or may not be true. Smokey Mountain is where we will be going from now on.
