By far one of the busiest locations (I've been to Mooresville and Mount Holly), yet it's one of the most efficient. The lady operating the desk, directing traffic and getting people checked in is a SUPERSTAR in my opinion. Extraordinarily helpful, direct and pleasant at the same time. She never seems to get frazzled the three times I've visited this site.

The front staff was nice, and the staff who helped us filled the document was nice too. Some of the instructors are good, you need to be prepare enough for the road test. Many people failed the road test. If you are walk-in, beware of waiting time. I came to the DMV at 7:24am, and I take my tests in 11am. A morning is spend for getting the road test done.

Like most government entities the DMV lives up the reputation of being both incompetent and inefficient. I order a replacement license almost two months ago and was told that it would be received within 20 days. After a month I went into this location to find out what happened to it and they told me that it was mailed on Jan 8. But after digging into it further I found that they lied and never mailed it out because I supposedly needed to retake my picture for the license but nobody bothered letting me know. So I got my pic taken and am still waiting on the second replacement. They claim they sent out another one but each time I call they say to give it 4 weeks. Apparently they operate at a snail's pace and deliver by Pony Express. I guess I will just be using a temporary license from now on. Maybe they can manage to get it to me by 2025.

Ok… hear me out… I know it’s the DMV but this DMV is amazing. Granted we made an appointment and yes the appointments were months out, but if you keep refreshing the website, new times slots do come up.Do yourself a favor and say hi to Grant! If you’re lucky enough to work with him for your DMV needs, you’re going to have a great time! Best DMV employee I’ve ever met.

Due to past dmv experiences I was dreading the visit but the employees today were not only very efficient but they were extremely kind and made it a very fast and pleasant experience! I went in for new tags and registration and was out within 10 minutes

This place is horrible. Rudest staff EVER. Needed a title for my boat trailer paid for it never got it. I think the lady behind the counter threw my paperwork away.

Outstanding experience! I was a walk in today and arrived at 10:15. I was the second person in the walk in line and got in right at 12. I was out by 1. The staff was knowledgeable, helpful, and very nice.

Since the management change, this place has definitely gone down hill. The employees are excruciatingly slow, and the management is rude to anyone who is not originally from the US. I (as a native born citizen vs a naturalized citizen like my wife) had to leave work early to go down and speak to the manager before they allowed my child to take her written test. I 100% do not recommend using this office until management is fixed.

Zero enforcement for the walk-in line outside for license / permit tests. People cut the line like crazy. The DMV employees make it seem like they let in a group at a time but in fact others can just randomly walk inside and get on the inside line for it.

Here was my walk in experience . I arrived before 6 am ( three were already waiting), waited in line until they let us in (line was 30 plus deep then), then waited until 9:45 am when they assigned me a ticket number, and then waited until 11:30 before I was called back. I was out at noon. While this whole process (both for walk ins and not having appointments for 3 months out) is horrible, I was pleased with the customer service. They are severely understaffed and are working with a system that is beyond broken, and I thought they did a good job. Real systemic change is needed though. For those walking in need to come in super early, and expect to not be done until close to noon. They will take walk ins in the morning and best to be in line early for this.

When my handicapped cousin and I arrived, there was a line from the entrance door down the sidewalk and halfway down the other side of the building. Since there were so many people in front of the entrance blocking our view, we thought there was only one door to get inside. We stood in line for about 15 minutes. There was no signage 'along the sidewalk' showing right side of the front entrance door is for Drivers License and the left side of front entrance door is for License Plates. A couple of signs along the sidewalk would be considerate and help direct people. It's appears you want to keep the people away. C'mon NCDMV, you're better than that!

The front Lady, it’s very disrespectful with everyone, everybody roll their eyes because of her actitud! I came for a Driver license 2 days at 6:00am, wait in line for 2 hours because of missing information. My sister sent the fax at 8:00 AM, at 9:40 she said she didn’t get it? My sister sent the fax many times and still not calling me “when she said as soonest I get I call you” If this lady don’t want to deal with people and don’t know anything about customer service it’s time to think about retirement.
