Not always less cost here. Me & my dog visited September 2023 for a heartworm test. First she told me $57 upon arriving. Then when I went to pay they told me $93. She said the vet tech fee was added. Well that's not right. It's not good business to say one price then another. Also, the vet clinic right down the road is $71 for a heartworm test I found out today.

BEWARE ESPECIALLY IF YOUR DOG NEEDS MEDS.I usually don’t even take the time to do this but I hate that I had to get pushy to get these people to just prescribe my dog the right dosage. And if this wasn’t for my dog I probably would’ve just let them keep telling me wrong information. If you’ve been going to Thrive before the merge of Vetco be sure they have kept records of everything. Sadly the Vetco team here has no idea of what my dogs prescription is supposed to be and they kept prescribing the wrong amount with the wrong instructions. Then when they fixed the dosage amount but they were adamant on two calls that they didn’t carry the correct dosage in a single pill until I had to find it on petco website and tell them. Then suddenly they could prescribe the right dosage. The issue is my dog needs this medicine everyday and I hate that I had to expose their limitations but I ask people to beware when it comes to medicine. If your dog is healthy and doesn’t need much I am sure this place is fine.

Brought my old gal in when she wasn't feeling well. Of course when I got there she was fine....They took a very thorough look and discussed different options and possibilities. Left feeling reassured and confident with them! Would recommend

2 year's ago I brought my 13 year old dog Gorgo here to get 2 masses removed. Couldn't be more happier with the results. Tomorrow we have to take her up there again because she has developed another very large mass on her elbow. She has scratched this new mass open and it has gotten infected. On top of all of this my husband just lost his job. I don't know how we are going to pay to have the mass removed. I don't know where else to turn too.

ANOTHER ADDITIONAL UPDATE: Just received a phone call from Donna Wagner-Rago Hospital Area Operations Manager for PETCO/VETCO and their "trusted doctor" who have once again have stated that the file they have requested from me from my dogs medical team. They feel they did not do anything wrong and that they are not willing to refund part of the astronomical cost they charged which between the finding between their records which I have copies of and the records provided by my dogs team, Not everything lines up and they are not willing to do anything else moving forward just as I suspected. CORPORATE GREED! YOU HAVE LOST A PATIENT AND A CUSTOMER and we will NOT be doing any business with Petco or Vetco moving forward!FOR THE FINAL TIME, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION TO ANYONE! BEWARE!UPDATE: Received a phone call from the manager Dorian from this location asking if I could please give her a call so they could try and make things right and after explaining what my pup had to go through due to their misdiagnosis, I informed her the right thing to do would be to refund a portion of the amount that was charged being that they nearly sent my pup to her death bed. Dorian responded that due to "services rendered, they could not issue a refund at all HOWEVER, they could use this experience to educate their staff for the future. WHO SAYS SOMETHING LIKE THAT? Right there folks, It goes to show that Corporate Greed is more important than a patients health and their clients.ONCE AGAIN, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION!Brought my pup in as an emergency. She was misdiagnosed and prescribed medication that nearly killed. Her was also charged for other tests that they stated they were not seeing anything. Meanwhile, she had a small intestine infection with bacteria as well as an extreme urinary track infection.I do not recommend this location.

Absolutely not! The service was horrible. For the amount of emails and text messages they send you to make sure you are on time…..you will not be serviced on time. Great doctors for sure I’ll give them that. But that’s all. horrible support staff. Being a DVM myself i was highly disappointed in how it was run. urgent care was booked to capacity & my home hospital is out of town so i picked here due to my husbands family staying close to the area. Had no choice. Next time I’ll do better research.

The receptionist was great and provided excellent customer service. The assigned doctor lacked personable skills. Upon entering the room, the doctor noticed my 4 year old grandchild holding the dog’s lease, and said “oh I see you are a trouble maker.” - very rude!! She then shared an estimate, for dental work, that was double the estimate that I received two months prior. As if that wasn’t alarming enough, she then shared that I needed to wait 30 minutes for the mix of a vaccine since they were not sure if I would show for the appointment. I informed the doctor that I confirmed the appointment four times several days in advance. The doctor informed that we (my grandchild and I) could wait 30 minutes in the room or walk around the store. One hour, after my arrival time, I was informed that there was a problem mixing the vaccine. Therefore, my pet would not be able to receive the vaccination and I would need to reschedule.HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED AT THE SERVICE RECEIVED

Drs Humphrey & Bellis are absolutely amazing.Really took time to get to us & our 2 small dogs over the year we've been going here - When my one dog had a Thanksgiving week spider bite & subsequent awful reaction, they fit us in right away & explained everything that his symptoms could be, what the first round of treatment would be, what to keep alert for, etc; & thankfully they were right on the money with their first treatment plan. We've gotten a lot of good information from these Vets & the Techs - I adore how much they dote on our dogs & take time to really hear us out & address every concern we've ever had. I'll be coming back for these Vets & Techs. I adore how seriously they took my concerns about my dogs anxiety issues. And helped me understand my fur babies even more.I will note, however, that the front office staff sometimes seem confused or not sure how to work the computers, but it's a never been a huge deal for me. Luckily, if you're also a Petco VitalCare member, you can update records that way too.

Dr. Humphrey is the most caring veterinarian I’ve ever come across. We have an “old lady” Maltese, and she is so understanding to our concerns and so very kind. If you are looking for a vet that will take time to actually sit and talk with you, and love your pet, then I definitely recommend Vetco in Huntersville.

One star is more than the vetcoLocated inside Petco deserves. (The associates that work there in the store are great) two weeks ago my cat began to get sick and normal vet had no appointments so I called vetco and they could get her in same day. My friend brought her because I was working and we're roommates so she lives with her and knows her. She called me crying telling me she was dying and if they tried to save her it was going to be very expensive and the other option she was given was to euthanize her. This is a one and a half year old cat who's been healthy and had no issues at all and we've been told that we with go through all these tests that are going to be expensive or we euthanize her - it was heartbreaking. We decided to pay $300 for the blood tests and other ones to get some answers and medicine as they said that she was severely anemic and no other real determination. They questioned feline cancer and other terms that were scary and all had a death sentence attached. They said she didn't have feline cancer and she was negative for other things including fleas. They sent her home after doing fluids and prescribing prednisone and some other meds on top of that and if she got worse to go to an emergency clinic and that they didn't think she would get better at this point. We made an appointment for a week later to do blood work and check her red blood cells for improvement. Clover immediately started To show signs of improvement she was up and eating and the diarrhea and vomiting stopped all together. Clover was playing again and seemed like she was doing great. Went to her next appointment and it was a different vet and she was short, cold and rude and talked over you. My friend put me on the phone to speak with her because the vet who'd never seen my cat previous only read a report decided she had feline leukemia and needed special testing and possibly a bone marrow test without even checking her or looking at her red blood cells again. I can't recall some of the things she said but one thing was " im trying to save your cat, if you don't want to that's fine". Continued to go in about how she was dying and how she had a cat and this happened some stressful thing brought on the cancer and she had to have the bone marrow test to find out for sure. I asked her to slow down because this was all confusing because the previous vet said she didn't have feline leukemia and she started telling me something about how the right test hadn't been done and you can't know without a marrow test. She then explained that whatever my cat had was contagious and my other cats were most likely going to get it and die and if we didn't do the tests she couldn't send my cat home to make others sick. It was so confusing and to be talked down to continuously and made to feel like you didn't care about your animal when all I wanted was clarification from how we went from one thing to another without an examination and she wanted to do all these very expensive tests to a young cat who had been tested not only there but at the clinic before I adopted her and she left the room to allow us to talk for a few moments. (I was on the phone). My friend called me back to tell me that my cat had fleas... which I know she doesn't but anyways the doctor used a napkin and wiped it on my car and then said you have fleas, you live with fleas they're all over your house and things you are infested. My cats do not have fleas, we do not have fleas. I love on the bottom floor and with the patio door open there was a time last summer that they had some and were treated and then fine. This doctor didn't care to hear that she was rude and accusatory. The first vet did a full inspection and there were no fleas- how she missed the flea dirt I don't know but it would have saved me $300 dollars and then the next bill was over $120 with more meds and the visit. I then signed up for a service to save money monthly since they said that it would save money with

I took my dog to be seen by Dr Darryl Fox tonight. I was so worried about her because she has been coughing and sneezing. They took great precautions to keep her away from any other animals. My dog has bad anxiety when meeting humans and I was very pleased with the kindness of the entire staff. The nurse was very sweet to her. Dr Fox gently but thoroughly checked her out, prescribed some meds and gave me a lot of great advice to help her feel better. The people who answered tge phones and took payments were also extremely nice. My dog seemed very comfortable with the entire staff while we were there!
