All around amazing, polite, and competent staff. My dog Chulo is reactive and he was handled with so much grace. The staff knows how to put your pet at ease. We no longer live in the area but I don't think we'll find another vet that cared for him the way that Dr. Fuchs and the rest of the staff did.

My dog passed away, and I called them right away and they got me in right away. Their prices were affordable and then they called the next day. They had the ashes in a box ready to go and very good customer service, compassionate, they were kindly and then I received a card in the mail few days later with my dogs paw prints, I will definitely be back with my other animals..

I called during an emergency with my lab mix. He was actively gushing blood from his nails and the person that answered the phone was BEYOND rude. She told me she would not get me in in a timely manner and that she could not guarantee anything. She had NO patience or empathy. We never even visited this hospital based off the phone call interaction we had. I genuinely hope this place gets shut down or gets some SERIOUSLY needed help.

I'm writing this review in hopes that everyone at Onslow Animal Hospital reads it and does something about their human interaction skills. My husband and I had to put our sweet, loving cat Finnegan to sleep after 18 awesome years with him. I will say thank you to them for fitting us in on a Friday before a holiday weekend. Having been a vet tech for a long time, I know what it's like to have to stay late after a busy day. That being said, I've assisted in many euthanasias over the years and I've never experienced anything like this anywhere I've worked. It started when we walked into a bustling waiting room, teary-eyed. The hospital manager (I'm assuming) greeted us and brought us in the room. She was overly professional and chipper as if we were there for a wellness visit. Absolutely no empathy whatsoever-just took payment and had us sign the euth form. No "I'm sorry for your loss". It was actually disturbing, especially from the manager who needs people skills. Then the tech came in, also very chipper, no empathy. She took Finn in the back to place an IV catheter, which I appreciate, and gave him treats when she brought him back which was also nice. The Dr came in, didn't say much, just asked if we were ready. The tech grabbed poor Finn roughly by the scruff so the the Dr could give the sedative through the catheter (not painful). I should have asked to hold him instead but I was actually in shock - I never would have restrained a cat like that in front of the owners for a euthanasia! The Dr didn't bother to wait for the sedative to take affect, just immediately started pushing the euthasol as fast as she could. Finn had a nasty reaction-seized up and went agonal. He looked like he was in serious pain/distress. I know sometimes euthanasias don't go perfectly, but that was horrific. Finn finally passed after having obviously suffered, and the vet and tech just left. We spent some time with him after, wrapped him in the blanket, and didn't know what to do next. We didn't want to just leave him in the room so I told the manager we were leaving. She just said in her chipper voice, "all set? OK, drive safe!" And that was that. I'm hoping they didn't just leave him on the table. They managed to make a lousy situation 100 times worse. The only reason I'm giving them 2 stars is because of Dr. Passmore who we saw 2 days prior. She was great-an actual human being with compassion. She took an x-ray and gave Finn a poor prognosis, but she took the time to talk to me and offer advice and sympathy. If you're just taking your pet here for a checkup or diagnostics, I'm sure this vet is fine. But please take your furry family member somewhere else to put them to rest. I wouldn't want anyone else to go through this.

Overpriced and takes advantage of people. Literally taken for a rabies shot and comes home with a 300+ bill. Go anywhere but here unless you have money to throw away.

The front desk assistants were very rude to us. We walked in to their clinic with a dog that had been attacked and was bleeding and needing attention and stitches. They acted like they didn't want us there at all. The vet was nice and quoted us $600-$800 for the services he thought he would need to preform along with medications he wanted to send our dog home with. The vet said he would call when the dog was ready to be picked up but that our dog would be there most of the afternoon/ evening. We waited for a call to tell us our dog was ready for pick up but we didn't get a call. Finally at 5:30pm my husband got a call asking if we were on our way to pick up our dog. He said we weren't on the way because we were never contacted. They were incredibly rude to him over the phone. Once he got there the dog was not ready to be picked up and the bill was almost $1000! The front desk associate was rushing my husband while he was trying to pay and get everything squared away because she wanted to close the office ! The only good thing about this place is the vet! Everything else was a disaster, overpriced and beyond rude ! We will never go back !

There are so many ways that I could describe my and my family’s experience with the staff and Dr. Liz. We were having to deal with an unexpected emergency with our Poka and they were so wonderful in how they treated her and us. From taking her back immediately upon our arrival, even though we were a few minutes early. They sensed my despair and fear and took her right away to start checking her out. Dr. Liz immediately came into discuss what was going on and stayed right with

Thank you so much for taking such good care of our kitten, we had to rush him in for emergency surgery as he had ripped apart his tail. The staff was unbelievably nice and understanding and made sure we understood the cost and the procedure our cat was going to have. Thank you for taking such amazing care of Jiji. I’m sure he appreciates you all.

From the bottom of my heart I’d like to thank the staff and doctor. I was a blubbering mess cause sadly I knew I was not gonna be taking my cat home tonight, I just felt it. The staff was very patient and understanding when I couldn’t keep my composure through the tears. Thank you, Dr. Eaton for letting me have a private moment with my precious girl before she took her last breath. Thank you for the hug after. I appreciate y’all

I wanted information on quotes and all I got was a phone call from a very judgmental clerk who didn't even let me talk, after seeing the review about the rude staff it makes sense. Will definitely not be going here for any pet care and will not recommend.

Very sad with the experience we had the last 2 times. One of my animals sustained an injury and I knew something wasn’t right, it was a Friday and I called to get him seen. They informed me they were too busy to see him and I could go somewhere else, thankfully I went somewhere else because it was found the animal had injuries that required surgery. Weeks later the animal was re-injured in a freak accident and I walked in as an emergency visit and was told he was ok and they couldn’t get ahold of the surgeon in Wilmington who initially did surgery but I should call and do a follow up in a few days. I immediately went to Wilmington as i could tell something wasn’t right, he had a fracture that required extensive radiographic testing and an overnight stay in the emergency vet.

Onslow Animal Hospital is the best - ever. Dr. Sheegog and his staff are committed to caring for you and your pet. They have the highest standards of care and will help through any situation. Brandi, the office manager, has been so helpful. She goes above and beyond to ensure you have everything you need to care for your pet.
