First time me and my girlfriend went, we chose matching denim skirts and the staff were fine. Tried them on, didn't fit. Got the largest size they had too, the store is super exclusive with their sizing. So, when we went back to return our skirts, we forgot the receipt but they were really helpful and gave us a giftcard even though their return policy required one. Then, we came back today and picked out some skirts to try on and we were both in the same dressing room, and one of the male employees stood right outside the door saying we couldn't have 2 to a stall which y'know at first is fine but he stayed there waiting for us right in front of the door. He kept repeating it, not even giving us time to get changed. We had no idea they even had that policy, they don't have it displayed. We were so disappointed and felt rushed. Not going back!

I went in and got 4 shirts that were priced at $7, buy 1 get one half off, and one sweater priced at $10. My total ended up being $37. The cashier typed in the sale price and did the math all wrong. They need a new system or someone who knows how to do math. My total should have been $31 plus tax which is not $6.
Not a huge deal but they need to do better at honoring their sales.

Although what i bought was what I’ve been looking for and was a good price, the staff made the experience horrible. The staff was super rude, super pushy w their fragrances, & were unorganized, especially at the register. Checkout should have been a breeze, but it took far too long for them to ring up the one item i had. The line was almost around the register by the time another female from the back decided to assist. She didn’t greet me, proceeded to ring up my one item, and asked me multiple times to sign up for their rewards and to purchase a fragrance. I didn’t get her name since she didn’t wear a name tag.I loved this place when i was in middle & high school. However, i usually just walk past it & avoid it altogether.

I used to go to rue 21 a lot during middle school times and decided to shop here for a gift and honestly I'm disappointed. The staff member that working at the check out was rude and disrespectful to others. When I was waiting in line I was directed between lines twice and before the person ahead of me was finished with their transaction the employee was yelling across the other customer trying to get my email and phone number to sign me up for some form of rewards program/membership and when I was trying to decline the offer she became very snippy. She ended up making me sign up or else I couldn't buy the shirt I was trying to get for my sibling. I then selected no in the pin pad for my information being put on the mailing list but the employee overrided it and put me on the list anyway. She then didn't speak to me after and yanked my money out of my hand when I was trying to pay and when it came to giving me my change she basically slapped it into my hand. As I was leaving the store I said to have a goodnight and I heard the employee immediately start to talk about me behind my back.I don't normally write bad reviews about companies or employees because everyone has bad days but as someone who works in customer service I cannot imagine ever treating a customer the way she treated me.

Rue 21 seems like they are losing style but it's probably just because I'm getting older ;)- staff was nice and everything was neatly organized.
