This review is not specific to the Semper Fi location, but includes my experience there. While I appreciate U-Haul's ease (somewhat) of online use, it was a bit complicated. Taking pictures, inside and out, uploading, downloading and getting approved. To be honest, I'd really prefer contact and a rental process with a real person. My only comment on the Semper Fi location is that well, it's TWO locations. And the day I rented my U-Haul truck, I ended up going to the wrong one. The wrong one being the one with a nice newer building staffed by actual helpful people. When I went there, they did tell me my rental was at the other location, which BTW they said was closed! But they said since I'd done it online, I should be fine.It was not fine. I got there and my truck was there, but was all locked up. So...I called the customer service number and reached a rep who I had a little trouble understanding. She walked me through the process that was somewhat cumbersome and complicated. Plus, I'd already done "online check-in" and now I was having to go through 15-20 minutes of pictures, approvals, and even having them call my wife to verify it was me? Seriously??Plus, they seem to limit your rental time to four hours and by the time I actually got keys, I was 45 minutes into my time limit. I had to ask the rep on the phone to adjust it accordingly. The truck itself was fine, but my big beef is with U-Haul. When you reserve it online, it may or may not be the actual location you THINK you're renting it from! And now, that's happened twice with me. While I understand having many available locations and nifty online reservations works well for big business, it's not for me.It was NOT a pleasant experience all around and I'll certainly look at Penske, Home Depot, Tractor Supply, Lowe's or another provider when I do short-term moving in the future.U-Haul, you need to review your online reservation and rental process, and also perhaps do a more careful check of the locations you use.
