“There is SO much to choose from and the customer service is amazing! They spent time with us answering questions about all of their treats! We walked away with goodies for the whole family! I highly recommend stopping by of you have a sweet tooth or just to see all of the amazing candy! They were so sweet that they even gave us the CUTEST reusable bag!”
“One of my go to stops when we are in OBX, it's a great place to get souvenir items as well as delicious salt water Taffy, brittles and scratch made chocolate items.”
“If you love fresh saltwater taffy then this is your go to place. The numerous flavor options and the freshness of the taffy is wonderful! This taffy melts in your mouth and you can actually taste the flavor. No more waxy taffy for me. The bonus is they have a great gift shop too. Don’t be afraid to stop in and explore. You won’t be disappointed.”
“The Sugar Shack rocks! Tons of throwback candy from my youth, cool souvenirs, new candy from today and the best, friendly service on the boardwalk. Fun fact, the owner’s name is Tracy…the owner’s wife’s name is Tracey (sp?). My daughter and I visit each time we’re in Duck. It’s a treat we look forward to. If they only had Clark bars (? discontinued) but he looked hard for em.”

Candy Stores
“We went to pick up chocolate-covered espresso beans. They have a nice selection of chocolates, hard candies, and wine. The store was on the back side of the plaza facing the sound. It's easy to miss but worth looking for.”
“Located in the Kitty Hawk Kites Complex across from Jockeys Ridge ( Huge Sand dune) in Nag's Head. We love this fudge shop! We watched them make fudge and pour it to cool on a cold stone table. The fudge is really good and an awesome treat for later or as a souvenir gift.”
“When visiting the beach it's nice to splurge a little, on good things. This fudge is is definitely worth the trip! Made fresh in the store daily, cooked in a copper pot, spread on marble cooling tables, then shaped into "loaves" and cut into half pound slices for sale. Today they had 14 flavors. Georgann was super friendly and so helpful. They also have chocolate treats, candy apples, pralines and ice cream (nearly flavors) with fresh made waffle cones... so tasty!”
“There is a super tiny sign on the back of the parrot that says your liabile if your not watching your kids an they break stuff so be prepared lol. It’s a cool stop, yes. Is some of the things over priced, absolutely. A toy truck that comes apart with a screw driver is listed as $7 when I can buy the whole set with 4 cars for $9 at CVS. The candy is almost $7 for 1/2 a pound. We bought almost nothing an some how still spent $20. There’s kids little machine rides but there hidden on the sides inside. The cashier is on the whole other side.
Kid-friendliness: I’d be careful bringing in little kids”
