This is a fantastic hardware store. I called dozens of places trying to find the key blanks for a 1980s GM car, and no one had them, but this store had loads of these keys, plus many others. Great service too!

Let me tell y’all something — walking into Lester’s Hardware in Kinston, NC is like stepping into a cross between a farmer’s paradise and a Southern superhero supply shop. Need a pack of pole beans? They’ve got 'em fresher than a preacher on Sunday morning. Need a bolt to fix the tractor that’s been squeakin' since 1997? They’ve got that too — and three fellas who can tell you the bolt's blood type.
I walked in for some pole beans and left feeling like I’d just had a full Sunday dinner and a revival meeting all in one. The staff? Sweeter than grandma’s tea and twice as useful. The place is stocked like Noah’s Ark — two of everything, and if they ain’t got it, they’ll help you build it.
D & D Pest Control Co. swears by this place. We grab our supplies from Lester’s like it’s a sacred ritual — like Indiana Jones reaching for the Holy Grail but with garden tools and IGR concentrate.

Hidden gem of a hardware located in downtown Kinston. I've known about this place for years but didn't take time to visit. Last week did! Went in to see and found what I have been missing in my life. A personal tool store/hardware. Did not plan on spending money but the deals were too good! If your a do it yourselfer or a contractor, check this local place. Also wide variety of tool rentals at affordable prices. The staff here was attentive and knowledgeable.

Lesters is the most helpful hardware store in Kinston area hands down. They also tend to have whatever the big box stores don't have . I appreciate the help they were quick to offer in helping me find the parts I needed. I've rented equipment from them before and the experience was great and the prices were better than any other place in the area. I recommend you try this place before you waste your time anywhere else .
