I received prompt care, but the medication they sell is way over priced. I will be asking for a prescription next time and get the medication else where. Any vet office should be ashamed to raise their prices on medication to loyal customers.

Liked them until things changed and they became about money instead of care. Told them I thought cat had UTI and I was out of work caring for my sister with cancer. $375 worth of mostly blood work for a 17 yr. old cat that didn't help find the problem.

Took my dog for a last minute nail clipping, I was not allowed back with her, she was SCREAMING in pain like I’ve never heard before, they said they were not able to get a muzzle on her after she was puppy biting… I offered to do it as she is muzzle trained and comfortable with me putting one on, they refused and wanted me to drug her and worst of all she came out smelling like a fish market… was also looking for a new vet in the area… off to KAH… took her to a groomer down the street, she did perfectly, not a whimper and they were even kind enough to spray her with puppy cologne… what was Smithfield Road doing to my puppy to make her scream in pain for a nail trim… never take your animals here

I brought my cat in on the 20th of October 2023, for his shots and thinking he just had a bad tooth, he hadn’t groomed for a while, he was drooling and clearly in pain. I only had so much money with me, thinking I would pay for his shots, and set something up for a tooth extraction. Dr Hannah Burns, had a hunch, he had FIV(and he does sadly) found a way for me to be able to do the blood work, his shots and put him on antibiotics and a pain meds. It’s only been 3 days, since he saw her, and he is so much better! He’s grooming again, he’s playful again. He’s back to being the cat that showed up on my doorstep 7 years ago.Unfortunately he does have FIV, but she found a way to get him feeling better, I was thinking the worst, and seeing how he is now just after three days, I couldn’t be happier. I’ve been coming to this clinic for a few years now, and they’ve been great! I’ve always just seen whoever was available but Dr Hannah Burns will officially be the vet I want to see my boy. Thank you so much! I can’t express how it feels to see my boy acting like himself.

Great veterinarians! Throughly explained what puppy needs and answered all concerns. The vet noticed the need brought out with his vaccines was too big and he immediately switched it to a smaller needle. If you are planning to get a puppy, I would budget for their puppy plan! Worth it.

The way management talks to their employees is unbelievable. I brought my pet in for a check up and the way the manager was talking to the sweet girl at the front desk was uncalled for. The girl was checking me in and was being very professional, but the manager was yelling at her while she was trying to check me in. I felt so bad for the employee. She kept it together and was professional. I will not be back ever though. If they talk to their employees like that, I can just imagine how they talk and treat my fur baby! I hope that girl at the front desk finds her a better place to work that isn’t so hostile.

Many years ago I would’ve given this Animal Hospital all 5 stars but that was then, this is now. I loved this place before they got bought out by a different company. Their prices were very affordable & they would work with you with payments and I always felt like my doggy got top of the line care! First nail clipping used to be FREE, then it went to $5, now it’s $15 (last I checked, it’s probably gone up again)! This place is no longer as affordable as it used to be & that was one of the reasons why I chose to stay so long b/c of the prices.However, they still provide very good care & their prices are still lower than some other places. I really like Dr. Freels though (I’m honestly not sure how it’s spelled, sry)!! But he is my first choice for my Dipper! :)

This vet has gone downhill since the new owners have taken over. Prices are way up, service is down. I'm left trying to find a new vet for my pups because I just don't trust or like this vet any longer.3 years ago they were amazing when our shelter dog turned out to have cancer. Now.. yeah. Time to move on.

I have started taking my new puppy to Smithfield Road Veterinary Hospital around May of 2022. I also started taking my two cats to this place. They are a little pricey but it was okay so far.First problem I had with Smithfield Road was with my cat. They cleaned his teeth. When I called it was going to be around $280 but I ended up paying $518.Second issue was with my dog;I needed to get my puppy to be spayed so I made calls to multiple veterinarians to check with prices. Smithfield Road was the cheapest in the bunch, $290. So I made an appointment for December 21. 2022. Surgery had issues and they didn’t let me know beforehand. I told them to let me know if she was on heat so we could postpone the procedure. They perform it anyway and call it “complications” to charge more money I guess.When they gave me the bill I was shocked, it was over $750. How could that be that they told me it was going to be $290 and I end up with more than twice as much.Person at the register told me that someone will come and talk to me about the price hike.One of the lady technicians started to explain to me that they stop giving estimates over the phone and the fee is what it is supposed to be and I cannot do anything about it.I told her that I would like to talk to the manager. She left and another technician Reggie (guy with dreads) showed up. I was sitting at the moment and he violated my personal space and got really close to me and threatened me.I thought he was going to fight me. Talking very loudly, calling me a liar about the price check over the phone, and keep telling me that I have to pay the bill or else. And none of the other employees even cared about what was going on. When I told him that I would like to see a doctor and do not want to deal with him. He got more mad, and I know for sure that if I stood up he would most likely hit me. So I just kept sitting.After a few minutes another technician showed up, instead of asking what's going on, he acted like nothing was happening. When I told him that is how you treat your customers he acted like he didn't hear anything.I stood up and walked around a bit and I saw Dr. Polu. I asked her if this is how they treat their customers. I said I was almost getting beat up by a technician.Finally they did some adjustments on the bill and took the price down to $447. All this time I didn’t even get to see my puppy. When somebody brought her out she didn’t have a cone over her head. Which is required after the surgery, I had to ask for it too. I left that place in such a confused state that I will never do business with an establishment that treats you like this. A veterinarian that has no compassion, technicians that try to kill you because you raised a question about your very high vet bill.None of the veterinarians talked to me about my puppy’s health or what to expect in the next few days, nor tell me how the surgery went. They treat you like a money machine not a pet parent.I am never going back to this place again.Jan, 2023

Dirty, disorganized, total confusion and lack of communication between employees.I was a client around 7 years ago, when Dr. Church owned the practice. I loved his gentle approach, his kindness and his ethics. I moved out of the area and had to find another Vet. I recently returned to the area and was looking forward to bringing my dog to him again, but learned he sold the practice to a "corporation". I figured I'd give it a try, but oh boy! Do your pet a favor and avoid this business.

Logan was super helpful and kind! Entire staff extremely busy yet kept us updated and showed my “Goose” boy so much love he actually enjoyed his first vet trip!
