Iam in charge of my sister’s home in candler nc no one lives at the home only a refrigerator and one lamp is using electricity and for one month I received a bill for 177.00 dollars how can this be correct I called the office they was no help at all and why do you charge 30 dollars facilities charges Duke Power does Not have facilities charges and their doing just fine facilities charges are just a way to rip of your customers because you are not regulated by the state you know that you can charge anything you want to and that is not Right I am very disappointed in your company and how they do business

We have used Haywood EMC since moving to NC almost 7 years ago. We have had nothing but a wonderful experience with Haywood EMC. They are incredibly community focused and helpful. We had a very high bill one month and they came out quickly to perform a free audit. I live in a small town with lots of chatter and I have never heard someone speak badly about their experience with Haywood EMC.

I highly recommend not calling Haywood electric. The first day they came out they pulled up and started stripping wires from our outside breaker box, while in the process of taking all the copper out of the old breaker box.Proceeded to dig a hole to get the wires that they were running to the inside breaker box to strip the wires completely out. After removing our old one they put in a new one. In the process of digging the hole to get the wires they also chopped our dryer wire. They told us an inspector should be coming out to look at it, left and didn’t come back. The inspector never came out so I called to get any updates and the inspector and the county told me they had no acknowledgment of them coming out to fix it, because in their words “ they haven’t found a permitted crew to come fix it”. We went a whole weekend with no power at all, waited till Monday since everything was closed over the weekend. Duke power came out Monday morning and told us they had to completely strip everything out that Haywood electric put in.
