Walked in - asked the bakery if an item had any nuts in it - store associate said no…got a severe allergic reaction and found out the product had almonds in it! First ingredient on the label. Unacceptable.

The produce manager Gary and one of the produce workers named Barbara are some of the nicest people you will meet. I had a special request and they were happy to help. Good people.

Almost always a great experience here, but tonight I arrived 5 minutes before closing which I normally hate doing. They have made a habit of regularly locking doors early to dissuade customers from entering last minute (which is becoming known locally among residents) but we were on a late schedule and needed a last minute food item. The short haired middle aged gentleman unlocking the door to let customers exit informed me they were closing between the cracked doors. I told him I just needed one item and conscious of getting out quick. He loudly huffed and literally slammed the door behind me. I stopped immediately turned around and told him to let me out since I clearly wasn’t welcomed, still during business hours. He opened the doors without hesitation, let me out and slammed them again behind me as I left, still before closing hours. I waited a few hours to calm down before posting this but it was excessive and uncalled for. We all want to get home, we all have hard days, but customers have hard days as well while we juggle our personal time. No one needs reported and I’ll still shop there, but I hope this gentleman reads this and takes this as a learning opportunity to understand the people entering his place of employment are also managing stress and shouldn’t feel guilty entering.

My wife brought home smoked chicken wings this afternoon. We live less than a mile from the Lowes Foods of Leland location. I had been looking forward to trying their wings. Both of us were very disappointed as the wings were not only tiny, but they were also very dry, tough and overcooked. We have also found Lowes Foods to be much more expensive than Food Lion and Walmart on same brand items.

Quite unhappy with the way they rearranged the deli section. Used to be the best now it’s just like the rest. Lost a customer.

The pale cashier guy with long black hair was rude. I asked “is this register open?” And he’s like “does it look like it’s open?” When checking out, he asked if I would like to donate to feeding America and I said no. He said “I wouldn’t either. I hate feeding America.” I asked why. He said “no reason”. I’d say he at least deserves minimum wage but I’d fire him if it was my company. The store itself was clean and beautiful.

Yesterday the customer service person at the customer service desk was not only unsure but dismissive. When asked a question she didn’t know the answer and reluctant to ask for help. Pls teach young employees it’s ok to ask for help

Just don't try to get a job here. The manager you interviewed with will suddenly start working 3rd shift despite interviewing you at 10:30 in the morning. Same manager will NEVER return your calls despite promising you a second interview, and you having a recommendation from an assistant manager from another store.

Prices are significantly higher than comparable grocery stores like Harris Teeter. I’m surprised to see so many reviews that say everything is always fresh. I can’t count how many times I’ve found moldy produce on the shelves and meat turning gray in the refrigerated section. They also sell several ground meat items without any best by date (the butcher couldn’t find it either), of course the meat smelled rancid when opened. Maybe there’s a refrigeration, trucking, or some other issue but I find disappointment more often than not at Lowe’s Foods. The things I do like at Lowe’s are the beer den and the sausage works items. Sadly I can’t go there for everything the prices are ultimately just way too high.

Pinehurst store deli department has a exceptional worker, "Ci Ci", Cecilia. Very customer friendly and professional in the way she prepares her case. The quality of her food preparation is highly appreciated by deli customers. Customer's ask for her by name. Lowes Food Store is very lucky to have her working for them. I have been shopping here for many years, Cecilia has always been here, rain, shine, sleet and snowfall. She is one in a million. Thank you Cecilia.
