My family, aunt's, uncles, cousins, friends, and myself have been coming here every year for all of my 54 years and then some to attend the "The Singing On The Mountain."A lot of wonderful sweet memories there. This year was the last for The Singing so my family decided to rent the place and have our family reunion there as a farewell so to speak. If you love the mountains and appreciate all the beauty that nature has to show then should go to MacRae Meadows. Have a picnic, walk the grounds, visit the swinging bridge that is visible from the meadows. Makes some memories.

I go to the Highland games every year and always enjoy it. There were lots of food vendors and decent food. Food is more similar to fair food than Scottish fare but that’s to be expected. It’s a pain having to wait in line for the shuttles but definitely worth it to spend a day here.

This review is long overdue but I had a blast at the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games. Can't wait for Covid to be in the past and we get to visit again. MacRae Meadows is a great place to visit. Great sites and staff was friendly.

Very peaceful place. Grandfather Mountain visit cost less than what I thought it would for what you get out of it. Weather was cold when we got there. Got warm and blustery in the afternoon. Then it rained, and stormed in the evening. Most crazy weather of any place I have ever been including what we saw in Alaska.

The Highlands Games at Grandfather Mountain NC is definitely worth it if you are visiting NC. After the battle of Culloden many scots immigrated to the US, a big amount in the state of North Carolina. The Festival is filled with booths that gives visitors a glimpse of the rich history of all these clans. The games.were fun to watch and the bands gave us all a glimpse of the scheduled.concert tonight. Make sure to sample some Scottish baked goods from House of Douglas bakery. They also do serve traditional scottish fare such as Haggis. There are many shops to purchase souvenirs as well.
