Madison Dry Goods and Country Store is located in a historic circa-1908 building. It is a one-stop shop with a great handpicked selection. The store carries high quality, affordable clothing, local food items, lotions, candles, old time candy, antiques, and much more. It also features a restaurant serving amazing, cheaper home-cooked meals and awesome homemade shakes. The building itself is full of history, having formally been a hardware store, a hotel, and a funeral service. Upstairs, visitors find the iconic Lawson Family Murder Museum and a local history museum in untouched century-old hotel rooms. The second floor also has other vintage items from the area and an antique/vintage consignment section. The museum is free to visit, though donations may require cash. The older building may not be fully accessible, as an elevator was not noted. The staff are very friendly, helpful, and engaging, providing great customer service and an exceptional experience. The atmosphere is incredible and intriguing. Visitors can also browse the bookshelves for the Free Little Library. The store offers an incredible and rare experience, encouraging guests to stop by.

Loved the Murder Museum upstairs! I bought lots of cool stuff. Clothes, taffy, beef sticks, seasonings and much more oh boy! Even a buffet with bakery. They do the cinnamon buns on Saturday.

I have been visiting madison dry goods for a very very long time! They always have great items to shop from and friendly staff. Also If you’re a true crime/history person, check out the museum upstairs, It’s free to visit but do consider bringing cash to donate to help keep it up!
