We are from Florence SC and we try to take a trip to Maggie Valley/Cherokee NC a couple times each year. Our trip is never complete without a stop at Old Gray Mare. The people are very nice and courteous. They have a little bit of everything in this store, fresh vegetables to boiled peanuts to homemade butter and breads. If you want it they probably have it! The building sits between Maggie and Cherokee. It has an old farmhouse feel to it. I absolutely recommend anyone traveling to or through this area to stop by and give Old Gray Mare a visit and see for yourself.

I have an eaten a pair in 25 years. I ate my first pair in 25 years at the old Gray mare. It was sweet and delicious, perfect! I got 2 beautiful tomalos. And some local apples. The lady was very nice! We chatted her up. They also have knickknacks and things to look at, And they have honeys and sauces and jellies and candies... Definitely worth to stop!

Super nice people there, lots to choose from and their fried pies are amazing. Their BBQ sauce is incredible from sweet and up the ladder of heat. They have old antique lanterns and irons that are one of a kind and affordable. DO NOT PASS UP THIS PLACE. Worth the visit.

Located on Soco Road to the west of Maggie Valley, North Carolina, this produce stand offers seasonal fruits and vegetables. We picked up peaches that were so sweet and juicy that we bought a peck on our way out of town to drive home after our vacation. We also bought a plum and several varieties of tomatoes. The staff were very kind and helpful.
